I really need to look into that, barely sorted out the tyres yet.

No need, the default settings are pretty good. :eyebrows:

I can see another half second in my lap (the last right-hander scares me), but seeing it and getting it are two entirely different things. 😅

I also tried to qualify for the Low Fuel thing, but wasn't aware of the 7 laps consecutive average so I'll have to do it again.

Bloody hell @winky. Solid time there.

Close so far! I'll be on tonight, trying to hone my laptime. I must say that it's a great track/car combination!

Anyone else experiencing really strong FFB with this Merc?

COME ON DAVE, GET IN THERE!

I wonder what it is about this track which is making the fastest sector times such a mix, we normally have pretty even shades of green from top to bottom with the odd exception.

It's the last right hander with the Bratwurst for me. Just compare @winky's sector times with mine. I should be able to sail over it but something in my brain says "remember the last time you did that?".

Don’t sweat it too much, the car does not get out of shape as much as it would in a GT3.

I'm not 100% convinced you need to eat the sausage on that one, I get around pretty quick without touching it and I'm currently the fastest sector 3 by a tiny amount. On the other hand, maybe it's worth a go for qualifying laps to eke out a tenth or two. For me it's probably getting spot on for things like the hairpin at the top of the hill and the one just before your favourite corner. Or the chicane. Or T1/2/3/4. Basically I think I'm pretty good at this track but it's like a fruit machine for which bit of it I'll be inconsistent with in any given attempt.

That downhill left-right S-curve is also a bastard when you get it wrong. Concentration is key here. And double espressos.

I ordered Heusinkveld Sprints.  I need my head examined! 😬

Crazy foo'! 😄

Good choice. They will deffo be a couple of segments above your current pedals. Not sure if they make you faster but they will definitely make you feel more in control.

As I said, I'm still using the old CSR pedals. Couple of tweaks made it even better and I'm planning to make a new base plate for them where I can move them around in more easily (it's really a hassle to do that right now) so that I can quickly switch to a GT/Formula positioning (without clutch) or a road car/rally positioning (with clutch) when needed.

I've completed my license on LFM as well now. I remember there was something about a RLLMUK team on the website? Is that already existing?

Some nice times here! Gonna have to get some more practice in before Thursday. Almost a second to find in sector three alone 😅

Yeah, @winkygetting into the pre-1.8 fast times benchmark with that lap, hats off mate.

I think I can improve my time by working on my braking, accelerating and steering. And setup. 🤞

@texlex45 yes there's a rllmuk team on LFM, should come up in the search. It's not actually done anything yet, but we're there!

How does everyone feel about our next season mirroring the LFM rookie (25 minute GT3) schedule?  As others, I struggle to find time to practice for any other racing aside from our weekly race; and I'm a bit rubbish with track knowledge still if I haven't raced somewhere in a while.  So it would be good to be practicing for our race but jump into some ranked racing there too.

is that a 12 week schedule, @davejm? I don't mind using them as the template. What do they do for it though, a single 25min sprint? My only thoughts about the incoming season were "feels like we're due a return to Donington soon" and "that BMW M4 seems to be everywhere while it doesn't have a proper BoP".

Yeah, 12 week schedule.  For the benefit of others that might not know how it works...

  • A LFM season runs for 12 weeks, with a different track each week
    • 30 minute GT4 races
    • 25 minute rookie GT3 races
    • 45 minute endurance GT3 races (1x mandatory pitstop)
  • Different track for each series
  • There are races on the hour, and are grouped into splits based on your rating
  • They seem to be well populated.  Sometimes there are 3 or 4 splits for each race
  • You can race as much as you want; but your best result in each week counts as your point entry for that week of the season (for the series leaderboard)
  • Every race counts for ELO and safety rating points.

I wouldn't expect our season would last for 12 rounds; but we could pick and choose a set of 8 races from their schedule and then have some AC races in between?  We could mix it up slightly if we're not totally happy with their choices.

I'd be in favour of banning the BMW M4 from our league, unless the BOP gets added before we start.

ah ok. So you could conceivably enter the season in three categories if you wanted? Picking a random race from the current season shows that they have quite some variance in entry lists, from zero to 138! So if you get up early enough you stand a chance of a high placing :) (I see they've thought of this and adjust championship points according to the field though)

This looks good.

I registered and just took my license on the SA95 server - passed easily enough.

If enough of us join, do we want to create a rllmuk team?

edit:   Actually - sod it - I've just created us one.

Name:  RLLMUK Racing

Password to join "0949"

Sorry to all the non UK rllmuk drivers - I had to pick a specific country for the team - it wouldn't let me pick "a cool mix of Europeans!"

@texlex45 almost the same but no letters!
