Sorry for the absolute shit-show from my part, @Valver, @mrben09 and @milko. I'm not usually that messy, but it goes to show that feeling a bit under the weather and tired does not make for good sim racing. I'm usually really good at close racing as Alastair can attest (see our battles at Monza recently) but I haven't been sharp enough to anticipate certain situations.

My game crashed at the start of the first race. Screen goes black and then white before the game shuts itself down and I get an error message. It happens randomly and I didn't know exactly what caused it, but I've an idea now. I have overclocked my GPU a bit so I now suspect the manual override might be the culprit. Toned it down to the calculated overclock so I'll wait and see if it still happens in the future.

The incident with Alastair was me still behind him (left side), but my nose was slightly next to the rear of his car. I didn't outbrake you at all, it was just different lines and braking points from what I could see in the replay. You were braking slightly earlier than me and same for your turn-in (turn 4). We touched slightly that way, but it was enough to send you spinning.

The incident with Ben was similar. We went cleanly around the last right-hander (with the bratwurst). Ben was on my left side and I on his right. On the little straight where the pit entry is, Ben went slightly right in order to make the last corner and I kept going straight initially, but moved left a tiny bit to block off Alastair and Mike (who were just behind us). And that's when we touched. Alastair was a victim of that one as well unfortunately.

Both racing incidents, but both could have been avoided as well. Bah and humbug. Hopefully I'll do better next time lads. 😔

Feeling the sim racing fatigue a bit too now to be fair. Can't seem to keep up with the pack and my lap times are way too slow. Which is a bit of a downer as I've sorted the game out now performance-wise, and since 1.8 the feedback feels absolutely phenomenal. Time for a league break methinks, so @davejm could we have a couple of weeks before we start a new one please?

Sorry you feel that way dude, but we all feel like this from time to time so hopefully the Christmas break will re-energise people and get some enthusiasm back.  I don't plan on getting the new league started until the New Year; so we'll just do some AC races in the meantime.

It's just that I'm not as focussed as I usually am and general tiredness has definitely something to do with it. It's been a while since I've had a holiday to re-energise (not since summer anyway) and the last months have been a rollercoaster of a time for us. Christmas recess can't come quick enough.

Good fun in the first race last night, had some fun chasing @valver who defended really well.

second race I forgot to update fuel then got a 30sec stop and go after diving into the pits, I just rage quit instead and went and had a nice smoke to unstress.

congratulations to everyone and thanks again @davejm for organising things and providing the practice server

Congrats Dave :)

Apologies for the punt @SneakyNinja, ambition some way ahead of talent.

No worries at all. I was out of talent from the start, and it only got worse from then on :)

Enjoyed our close racing as ever and watching the pressure you were under for the majority of race 2. Well done on keeping it on track! I was just about able to keep pace with you once Daniel got past us both but was never quite close enough to make a move.

Did my first LFM race just now at Imola.  Finished 16/23 in the last split (from 3); and basically last of the cars that didn't pit for repairs.  It was an 11pm race which I wasn't prepared for; and I got taken out in the first lap and had 45 degrees steering for the whole race :(  I did a couple of laps to check the laps times as it noted 1:44 for repairs; so in the end I just stayed out as I was only a couple of seconds off-pace.  But it was awkward.

How do you think you would have compared on pace, if you hadn't had damage?  Is it full of aliens, or people more like "us" 😄

Based on the times compared to our season 6 finale, I'd have been knocking around the top 10 I think.

Did my second race, and was put in split 3 of 6.   Got taken out again (this time someone re-joining) and was the second slowest on the track so finished second to last of the finishers.

I guess it takes a few races until your rating gets to its level, before you get put in splits of a similar ability.

Two fun races though.

I'm doing an LFM race tonight. Last one of the year it seems, and they only had the "full" GT3 left so it's all that pitstop stuff as well. Anyone know how that works? It's got a minimum fuelling time on it, do I have to manually set that by looking at the MFD and tinkering with the amount?

Also is the published start time a:CET and b: when the 2 min practice begins? I'm not sure what we are meant to do with 2 minutes! Can't help thinking I'm missing an FAQ or something.

The LFM season has finished, there are no more races now.  I've just taken a look at your profile and it looks like you were registered for a race yesterday that you didn't take part in; so I'm assuming you misread the schedule or something?

2 minute practice time is just so that people can get into the server I guess.

Minimum refueling time just means that every pitstop for fuel takes 25 seconds; regardless of how much you put in.

Published start time is always your local time.

It said Monday the 20th on the signup page, and 11pm. So that's very confusing! FFS. I did wonder why it seemed like signup had to be 24 hours in advance.

I didn't know the server could set up a minimum pit time, that's pretty smart. In our 'endurance' races the splash 'n dash strategy was looking quite handy sometimes and I suppose this neuters that to some extent.

Yeah, very strange indeed.  If its any consolation, the drop in your ELO rating means you won't get lumped in a split with much faster drivers like I did.

Hey guys!  Hope you all had a good Christmas.  I'm pleased to announce the schedule for season 8.   To save a lot of faffing and decision making; and to make it easier for folk wanting to take part in the LowFuelMotorsport races I've aligned the track choice with their rookie series.  Here it is:-

image.png.0143690b72a87cf431e57739259763ab.png

This season we'll be back in the GT3s (with your choice of car for the season) and will move between the 1 hour endurance races and 2x 25 minute sprints; with a 90 minute Blue Riband event to round off the season.  I'll get the practice server configured at some stage; but we have a little while before we start things off anyway.

Let's try to arrange an Assetto Corsa race for Thursday 6th if possible.

Another important and hopefully FUN announcement...

This season will feature REAL WEATHER for every race! :)  At 6:30pm on race day I will be configuring the server to feature temp and weather settings that match exactly with the real weather on the circuit at that time.  Should introduce a new dynamic to the racing.

20th of January is going to be some interesting conditions at Spa, can ACC simulate snow 😀

This looks like a good selection of tracks and I think we're going to get many rainy races. This should be a fun season!

It’s only a Quest 2, just bought it today.

Specs:

Ryzen 7

RTX 3070

16GB

It’s a laptop though, so downgrade expectations accordingly :D

Ok cool, I have a quest 2 with a 3080 so I can definitely help with general settings to apply in the headset drivers and also the game.  I'll write something up.

Do you have a link cable?
