I'd like to report a murder at the hairpin!

@Yannik:omg:

No worries dude - I forgive you

Congrats to @Meers on a superb win tonight.  I was running my own race chasing down @EuroVapeSim2 in the mid part of my race, and then later trying to keep ahead of @milko, so I wasn't aware of the epic-ness taking place.  Watching the replay I see there was some proper action at the front!

Thanks @davejm for all your hard work organising us.  I know at times it's like herding cats.

Highlights uploading now - will post them up in a bit.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, that corner is the only one in that section where you can actually attempt an overtake and feel like a boss when you succeed. 😄

I can't sleep because I'm still too excited so I'm going to do some practice at Zolder for our upcoming 10h race.

Those highlights showing "yellow flag" as @Meers takes the win reminds me, what happened at the end with it calling the race over straight away? I was hoping @Valvermight randomly lose it on the last lap and let me in, I'm sure that happened once before! Ahem, not that I wish misfortune on anybody.

Did you guys all start on Wets ?

I was on wets the whole race, but I think a couple of the guys chose drys at the start.

Did the track ever dry enough during the break in rain to the point that the tyres came to you?  I don't think my wet tyres ever got that hot, so it most have been a real struggle on drys.

Not sure what happened at the end.  I'm pretty sure I set the post session timer to 3 minutes, same as always.  In fact, the events were just cloned and adjusted from the same template so not sure why it ended so abruptly.

You were eating into my lead at the end there!  My 6 second gap was reduced to about 2.5 in about 3 laps and I was VERY glad to see the flag!!

Congrats @Meers on the win mate, can't believe I went from 1st to 5th in those last 2 laps, didn't notice the x4 multiplier so when I pitted it forecasted no rain for the next 30 mins but then I ended up on 24 psi slicks on a wet and damp track when it started raining again, lol, but the evening temps dropping totally finished me off and I had no pace. Overall a really enjoyable dynamic race with a bit of everything! Thanks @davejmThanks guys.

Hey Daniel, thanks! That was tense at the end man! I figured there was something up with your tyre pressures after your stop, as you were on fire in your first stint (25 seconds ahead I believe). I only discovered it was you in front of me (and Cillian) by the time I closed the gap. It surprised me completely and made me realised I had a chance to win the race.

I was on wets the entire race as well, and dropped all tyre pressures with 0.5psi during my stop which made my tyres even better than in the first stint (they were starting to overheat rapidly at the end of my fist stint). The rain at the end of the 2nd stint also saved me from overcooking my tyres, as the drying track offered less and less wet spots to cool them.

I love racing in these conditions! Gimme some more of that!

I'm glad to read that, thanks man 👍It looked pretty bad in the highlight video, but was just plain weird from my POV - looked like your car slowed down right I got back on the throttle, but the game didn't even register a collision on my end (no warning, etc): https://clips.twitch.tv/HeartlessRefinedAdminPJSalt-3btALQ5UeE0UbcHE

Anyway, the race itself was awesome. Thought I'd thrown it away right at the start by choosing slicks, which did not work at all resulting in a lap 3 stop for wets and enough fuel to last until the end. Got faster and more comfortable after that, especially on a drying track, but I was hoping for more rain so I wouldn't have to come in a second time for slicks - which then fell just in time 😄
@davejmand I had a bit of a hairy moment when there was a slight tap at Spoon, which luckily didn't lead to disaster. Entering the main straight to start the last lap, I had a good exit from the chicane to get next to Gary and Daniel (sorry, don't know their names on here) and almost got pushed into the pit entry, but the move stuck and got me up into second. Really happy with that after the race went the way it did, hard work but a ton of fun :)

Congrats to @Meers for the win (great move to take the lead, too!) and to @Erik for the championship win! I am glad I could come back to race with you guys again, just a great group of guys to spend your Thursday nights with driving pretend race cars 💪

I'm no expert, but is that not Valver missing the braking point/divebombing a li'l bit, and then having to slow to stay on the track? Brake lights are still on as he passed the apex. You'd have had to swerve in a lot more left on the exit to dodge it. Or I dunno what I'm talking about, at least equally likely.

Wow, that was epic.  One of my favourite races of all time.

Well done on @Meers for the win, awesome scenes and well deserved.

Here were the final standings:-

Yay, first of the losers! I'll take it though as I've still no idea how that happened given that I'm mid field at best in terms of raw pace.

To echo others (but it's worth saying again) - Well done @Meers on the win, @Erik on the championship, and all involved last night for a relatively clean race given the tricky conditions.

And of course, thanks again to our chief cat herder, @davejm.

Thoughts on next week?

I was trying to come up with a plan that allowed for 3 x 15 minute races at each of the new tracks, but it makes it a bit tight with the time before and after the sessions.  But it might still be workable if I play around with the settings.

Or shall we just stick to the normal format of choosing one track?  It gives more of a chance to learn one of them properly during the week.

That'd be me :)

Yeah, that was a good move, and a bit scary to be three wide as we joined the start/finish straight. I may have done a swear.

Good to know, I think I'm getting better with names and forum nicknames :D

Thanks man! Watching it back, it certainly looks rather optimistic - good thing it didn't end in calamity 😵

Has one lap towards the end where i was 5 second faster, but no i got it very wrong and once i went passed the point where i would be last if i pitted i decided to roll the dice and hope and prey it cleared up, same when i pitted should have gone to wets but rain was on then off then on then off so i put another set of drys on, generally pressures were down in 22's lol...

Surprised thou i only had one half spin, but was all good fun and a good experience

Season 10 (10 !!) draws to its end during the delightful summer months of Europe. And what better way to end than some tricky weather in Japan on the famous Suzuka International Racing Course.

This season has been a good one, and one that has extended our grid out to some returning competitors and some new ones. Welcome one and all.

Enough of me rambling, let's get on with the trophy.

In respect and admiration for our now bigger contingent , the Dutch E-science grid has come back from the dead (deceased 2012) to sponsor us this season, using their more colloquial name of BiG Grid (Big Grid) .

This is rather fitting , as the winner, as voted by you the drivers, is the bollard hopping Dutchman himself , and now 3 time winner of this coveted award @Meers

Congrats. And please look after what is now becoming a historical timeline of this community (you don't get shit like this in the GT, Pinball or FIFA threads !!)

Roll on 11.

Wow, thank you very much for this award, Ben! I am honoured really to be receiving this award for the third time!

I would like to thank my lovely wife and kids for letting me do this on a weekly basis. Also a big thanks to the guys over at Prime Motorsport for allowing me to lose precious track positions during our endurance races, it's been and still is quite a lesson in sim racing. Also thanks to rllmuk forum for giving idiots like us a platform to chat and organise online races on. And of course a big thanks to @davejm and all you immensely skilled guys for making these amazing races happen. As you probably have seen in the F1 online league thread, we'll still be reminiscing about this in 10 years' time! But most of all...

The first to win it twice has got a third before anybody could match that feat. Just where does this upward curve end, @Meers?

Once they take me to a retirement home, probably. 🤪
