Morning guys, it's the penultimate round of the season @ a rainy Brands Hatch.  Yikes this is going to be hairy

Only managed a single practice session for todays race, so quite happy with only being a second or so off the pace as that's definitely findable.

By the way, I failed to get my lowfuelmotorsport license after two attempts   Was lapping within a second of the target time (which is quite slow, as I've forgotten how to do Hungaroring) but on both occasions I got aliens right up my arse who put me off and made me crash (flashing lights, right up my behind etc).  So I gave up in frustration.  Will try again later when the server is quiet.

Another hotfix out today. Hoping I can reach the giddy heights of my own time tonight, set very early in a very quick practice! I have since then had about one more hour at it while feeling tired, thought I was doing really well but I'd remembered my previous time wrong by one second so actually I was still 0.3s down on my best

 

Mostly crossing my fingers I can go a whole race without binning it, as ever.

That's really annoying, how many people were on the server when you got on? There was about 9 when I was on and managed to find a comfortable gap between cars and I was lapping in the low 1.48s. I only came across one person while doing my laps. I was pretty nervous as well getting on the server, I think just the extra pressure of it being a licence.

Yeah I was doing low 1:48s too.  There were about 10 people, I just got unlucky with aliens doing super quick laps coming up right behind me and being aggressive; so it just put me off.  And as you need 7 subsequent clean laps it got frustrating.

They probably think they own the track, that's frustrating especially as it's not a traditional competitive session, if you're an alien it should be a breeze to just drive around the others even at the Hungaroring.

I must have got lucky as I got on the LFM license server at a quiet time - there was me driving and one guy in the pits doing setup changes and that was it.   Good luck for next time @davejm

Yeah, the first guy came up to me flashing his lights; and when I moved over to let him stick to his line he moved over at the same time and hit me.  And the second guy just came right up to me on a corner and I got flustered and invalidated my lap.  The second one I might have done better with; but the first guy was an arse

Ah man, Cassidy! Not sure if it was you I messed up the second race for but I think it was.

 

I am so goddamn sorry for that rejoin from the grass after spinning out in turn three pretty early on in the race, after the incident where two dudes spun in turn 1. I overcooked the turn and slid on to the grass and really struggled to turn the car on the grass and think I ended up rolling down perpendicularly onto the track instead of parallell as I tried so you had no chance and hit me. Or maybe it was when I ran off in t4 and struggled to straighten the car. Not sure right now but one of the two it was. I really should have looked better around me and not tried to get going too quickly. I am really embarrassed as that has to be something I should be able to avoid doing after 315 hours in the game (wich is not much compared to others but enough so I should be better than I am).

 

I will look at the replays when I can bring myself to watch them and wil DEFINETELY use this as a learning experience and hopefully improve. As I said to the others today I might be too slow and too inexperienced to drive with you guys and I hate the thought that I end up screwing up someone´s race like that.

 

If this wasn´t you it was someone else in here so sorry to whoever was affected by my driving.

Well done guys, that was tough.  Sorry @EuroVapeSim2 for smashing into you; I was so concentrated on getting the car going and was in such a flap from my spin, my concentration was gone and you got the brunt of it   I'm especially annoyed as you are my closest challenger and I'm annoyed you had to leave with so much damage.

 

It was such a disastrous couple of races for me.

 

To make matters worse, I tried for my LFM license again and was doing 1:57s but the server session ended after I'd done 6 clean laps 😬

 

EDIT: Just went back in and got the license  Easy that time!

 

@SneakyNinja I've adjusted the points to give you what would have been second place points haul (and adjusted others too).

Absolutely no need to apologise to me, I actually hit you in T4, my car was heavily damaged from hitting @davejm in T1. I just wasn't able to turn left at all and just went straight into your side. I jumped back to the pits after and controls were locked for 4 minutes and I decided to call it quits there.
