Oooh, cool idea! It's a great way to try out team based racing, which frankly still terrifies me.

Yeah, I must admit that part of the idea is to let everyone get a bit of a taste for team racing in our own 'bubble'. 😅

ACC hotfix 1.8.16 is out.

Changelog v1.8.16

  • COTA: added barrier in runoff to avoid wrong direction trigger.
  • Indianapolis: podium graphics updated.
  • Indianapolis: fixed ghosting occasionally disabling in pitlane due to erroneous surface type.
  • Fixed camber values and limits in presets for a number of cars in American DLC track groups.

+ as a hidden tweak Porsche BoP changed on at least one of the new tracks so that its not a full second faster than all other cars. I hope they'd pay some attention to Audi too, currently LFM pro signups is 50 % Audi because its so fast.

@Erik, how much effort is it to set up teams (and driver changes) in ACC?

Not difficult at all. Simracing.gp should support team races already and if not you can create entrylist and results with raceapp.eu

Was it Indy by any chance? I was trying it out last night, rllmuk-racing doesn't seem to have recorded my time but it felt quick, would be just typical if it turns out I was BoP OPing.

At least Watkins Glens. Maybe Indy too. Porsche always feels fast to drive to me but the stopwatch tends to disagree. 😄

haha there is that! It's just so exciting and mad in there, always weird to get out and realise it still wasn't as quick as a smooth float about in the Aston or something. But having tried a few laps of Indy last night, the acceleration out of slow corners and late braking into them all felt pretty handy.

Yeah I thought I was seeing things. I'd like to use the Porker but this puts me off it.

I'd love to do this, but I'm away :(  Hope you can make it happen though

Yeah, simracing.gp supports it.

@Meers have a play around with event creation.  You can always delete it after while you learn how it works

Maybe it's better to do it in the autumn when everyone's back from their summer hols. I'm going to explore the options in the mean time though. 😄

It is, lots of blind corners behind crests. Used to drive on it a lot in F1 and it seems to have the same flow in ACC. Feels like you're doing one of these:

I did a time but it didn't seem to have registered it on the site?

I think enduros need a big grid thats fairly close in pace or you end up just halving car numbers from like 16 to 8. However there are many one off events that should be good for newcomers in the near future. 😉

Speaking to @Meers, I think the plan would be to do it with a long build up so we can drum up interest from other Discords (Prime, TSR, SCB etc).  We had 20+ racers for the Spa race the other week, so even if we can do something similar that would be 10 teams.   Hopefully with a longer build we could have more.  Guess it depends how much interest there is in a team event.

We can cancel the event if there's not enough interest.  But I'd love to try it.  I struggle to commit to any racing at weekends, so penciling out one of our Thursday dates appeals for me.

Yep what Dave said.

Thursdays would be best, and maybe do it in the next series' break week?

Sorry to dip early in the last race, was really enjoying it and then clipped a bad kerb, crashed spectacularly and had more wait time than remained in the race. Too hot and tired to spectate even. Great fun overall! Sorry to those ( @Valver @EuroVapeSim2) my big crash had some collateral moments with. I'm not sure how many times I spun but I was thankful not to have a motion rig :)

need to apologise for race 1, not sure who i nudged two people on first few corners but my ACC was freezing and stuttering and had no radar or crew chief... was very strange then in cota i crossed the line and it still hadnt given me the chequered flag some gremlins somewhere

Looks like you guys had, what seems to be, a dynamite couple of races!

They were fairly chaotic - everyone being unfamiliar with the tracks plus some fairly dicey manouevres/actual punts made it dangerous. Good fun though.

I really enjoyed that 911, it's got me thinking about using it more often. And the Ferrari, but that might just have been Watkins Glen, those banked corners meaning you can balance on the throttle easily makes for a good time.

Oh yeah also on Indy I got a full track cut warning for sliding outside onto the grass at T3, it cost me about 5 seconds at the time. I'm not sure why it had to be mean like that!

Seems I managed 4th in all three races, which I'm happy with. As usual, my lack of raw pace was made up for with consistency and "Days of Thunder"-ing my way through other peoples accidents and stealing places.

Some disappointing driving standards out there though, with weaving and guaranteed contact lunges in the braking zones, but from my 4th places I got to watch some close battles for the lead ahead of me.

Not a fan of Indy, but really enjoy the other two. (Americans don't race in the rain, right? Right?)

Oh, and those sausage curbs on COTA *hurt* in a motion rig! Really makes you take a tighter line to avoid them.
