Assetto Corsa Competizione | Season 14 Round 6 | GT3 Endurance @ Watkins Glen

I like Watkins Glen. Indy can whistle.

I don't like randoms railing me off the track on a straight. I imagine @Valver was underwhelmed with the T-Bone he received about 1/2 lap earlier.

However, I still like to see new joiners whatever they route they take to get to us. But maybe its a 3 strikes situation. Fuck about with people for 3 weeks continuous and you are out.

Nic's PC disconnected at the start, we dropped back 5 spots. We're basically all the way at the back now.

I had a fart in the first chicane. Lost control, tried to get back on the track but miscommunication between my spotter and I caused me to hit someone. Lost a lot of time because of that.

Cillian and Erik are doing great. P12 at the mo with Cillian driving and he's doing the same pace as our American driver (Andy). We're P21 currently.

I've resumed the live feed:

So it turns out that the server doesn't disconnect gracefully when it flips to the new rotation, and doesn't save the results if you're on the server at that time.  So if you want your times to count everyone needs to exit the session before the hour is up.  Very annoying.

Practice server is configured for GT4s, and back on hourly rotation between the 3 tracks.

The website now groups results by track too.

Cracking job on the multi track practice timings page!  Works brilliantly

I did a two hour race at Zolder this evening 😲 with the SCB and TSR guys.

I was totally rubbish and made loads of mistakes, as joined the server with no practice and with two mins left of qualifying, and in the McLaren for the first time in a while.  So wasn't well prepared.  Finished second to last (although a few dropped out).

But it was fun and my knee feels fine after such a long stint.  Was tricky being in the VR headset for that long in this heat, but I'm amazed I managed to do such a long race!!

Nice one, Dave! Zolder is brutal for such a long stint, we did 1 hour stints because of that. Good to hear that you knee held up fine.

We finished P20 (BMW). Cillian and Erik P13 (Bentley).

Can anyone say what this is like on a pad?

I know, I know, I've not the money not space for a wheel. But may pick this up in the future on Steam and then resub to ps+ just to start doing some online racing as my grief counsellor thinks it would be a great thing to help with all of that.

not ideal but certainly doable: https://coachdaveacademy.com/tutorials/ultimate-assetto-corsa-competizione-controller-settings/

if you get it on Steam (Some of us may even still have a spare copy from the humble bundle, I gave mine to Ry already) you'd likely be better off having a nice time racing with us, not going on those random PSN peep things :)

One of the fastest ACC aliens (BlackGoldSaw, I think he's called) uses a pad.

So it's doable.

I started with a pad and it felt quite good.

EDIT:  I have a spare Steam key if you'd like it?

Sure, can't harm to try it, I'll gradually get the dlc. Thank you

@wev the DLC goes on sale whenever Steam has one, and I think CDkeys was knocking out the newest one at a bit of discount too. But check how you go with the base game first, definitely. A really good way to get started is to get on Dave's practice server with one or more of us on discord voice chat, it's so much easier to talk people through it live and we can jump into each other's cockpit view and stuff. The initial learning curve is a bit steep!  We're on a DLC track at the moment but I'm sure we can arrange something soon enough.

I do not get that reference. 😕

Saw your chats too late, lads. Sorry. 😔

Nothing particularly clever just a children’s TV presenter: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Hull

Edit: Jesus! is anything sacrosanct these days?

There were apparently no boundaries to Emu's outrageous behaviour. At least two people have publicly reported Hull's sexual assault of women using Emu as a cover. Darts champion Eric Bristow wrote: ‘He used the puppet to feel up women and stick his hand between people's legs.’[6] In a 2007 interview with Chortle, the late veteran comedy producer Michael Hurll said to Hull ’ "Look Rod, you’ve got your hand in that emu, up girls’ skirts and squeezing their tits; doing things you would get locked up for."[7]

Yesterday we left the server when it still had 20 seconds or so in the clock but it didnt seem to save results in the other session. 🤔

In-game session timer or real time clock?  The server manager must have stopped the server (in order to restart it for the next session on the hour) while there was still a connection I'd expect.

EDIT:  Yeah I can see from the logs that the Watkins Glen session from 20:00-21:00 had 3 drivers on the server (yourself, Meers and Oliver) but someone was still connected when it reset for the Cota session.

It's really annoying that if you stop the server it doesn't save the results.  One of many annoyances I have with the Kunos server software.

In game session time. Maybe it needs a minute or two to be safe

Struggling to practice this week myself. It was 38 in the conservatory last night, so it was a no from me.

I hear ya. My setup is up in the Earths molten core.. sorry, the loft. Which is covered in lovely black heat absorbing tiles. Even the several million pounds worth of Celotex up there barely manages to keep the carpet from combusting.
