The mrs and I are seriously looking for a new (and bigger) place to live, so things may change quickly if we're lucky to find something affordable. Which means that I could miss a couple of races due to moving house. Got something on our radar, gonna have a look this Thursday. We'll see.

I'm in a similar position with up-scaling, but might be faced with a much longer hiatus.   I've got to get my office/sim-rig room turned into a guest room to make it more presentable for a sale, so I'll be getting the sim rig put away for a good while :(  Not sure when it's going to happen as I have other stuff to do on the house first, so sorting this room out will be the last thing I do.  So not sure if it will be late this year, or early next.  But a long break from sim racing is on the horizon.

I read that, but all I saw was "I'm getting a bigger dedicated Sim-racing room"

Good luck, moving house is always stressful

Ha! Great minds think alike! There's a garage-sized 'appendage' next to the house which is accessible from inside the house and it's big enough to be used both as an office and a man cave. 😅

When that particular neighborhood was built, people who bought a house there had the choice between a garage or an extra room. The people on this address chose the latter. Suits us fine because we can use the extra living space (it's as big as the garage option would be), and I don't see myself parking the car in a garage all the time. I could build a carport for it instead.

First thing's first though!

Yeah we may have to clear the loft too for the same reasons. Not looking forward to that. Or just blur my sim racing corner out, may work too.

We still have to sell off a lot of baby stuff (furniture mostly) before we do. The loft is riddled with it!

Don't envy you on the house move fellas - got mine done last year and I am sure it aged me about a decade! Worth it in the end, although since my son was born our new place is beginning to feel small again so maybe we'll be on the move once more soon :seanr:

Kiro! How's parenthood treating you so far? 😅

My custom stickers arrived.  Lovely high quality printing, but they're a bit smaller than I had imagined...

Ha that's awesome! Would like to have a couple of those on my rig and my car! I think I've missed the chatter on those, but where did you get them from?

@Meers  There was a link on the last page - £1 for ten!!

https://www.stickermule.com/uk/deals/a113a377?ref_id=7527502701&utm_medium=link&utm_source=invite

Alternatively, I'll send a few out by snail mail if you PM me your postal address...  (hint its cheaper to just order ten new ones!)

Oh man, 2 posts above my 'I'm back' post as well. Must have skimmed over it.

Thanks for your offer but I think I will order a full batch of 10, Al. I want some of them mirrored if that's possible.

I've tried putting in a few laps on the Imola practice server this week.  It's still unpleasantly warm donning the magic VR hat!  About 5 laps in and I'm a sweaty mess...

Also - who is Oliver Miller?  I dont know how his logged time compares to "the regular fast guys" - is 1.43.7 decent?  Regardless, I can't quite match it

It's @OJM CHICKEN, from the Prime Motorsport crew. He's fast indeed.

A complete whirlwind 😂. Turns out our little one has a dairy/lactose intolerance. Taken a few weeks and many doctors appointments to diagnose; until this past week he's been quite uncomfortable and miserable, particularly after feeds. Thankfully his new formula means we are seeing signs of improvement and actually getting smiles!

Of course, he's now decided he doesn't much like going to sleep in his cot so we are having to hold him most of the night. As such, both knackered. Things will get better though.

Hopefully 😅

Oh man, so recognisable... especially with our daughter. She had the cramps from the air bubbles in her formula. We gave her Infacol for that, which worked somewhat. Almost 3 months of crying though, mostly at night. Mostly...

Knackered you say? I am chronically knackered these days. I have maybe had 3 or 4 good nights since the birth of our son, almost 4 years ago. Last night, he jumped out of his bed 3 times. He had a dream and his room was steaming hot too so he then comes to our bedroom to sleep between us. That was fun and games when we were on holiday, but now it's time again to sleep in our own beds! At some point it said 04:00 on my alarm clock. 😞

"Kids are great!", they said. "You'll get so much in return!" they said. 😅

it's partly true. The word they forget to add is 'sometimes'.

I will give it a shot this evening.

However,  due to chonic overacheivement, West Ham are once again in for a longish Euro campaign, in the Mickey Mouse nonsense Euro cup. So I will be away the odd Thursday. The 8th being the opening game against the Titans of Europe, FCSB !.

So I haven't jacked it in, but will be missing a bit.

UPDATE: not giving it a go this evening. Totts at home !

Ben

Cheers @Meers.  I haven't decided on car for the new season yet, hence why I haven't signed up to the league races.  Will see how the warm-up goes in the Audi.

@Erik > Do you know if the Audi was nerfed during the recent updates?  I don't want to use it if I have an unfair advantage.  When I was watching some of the aliens race, they were coming up against the Audi and getting a much better exit out of corners only to see the Audi pull away.  Pretty shitty!

It was nerfed a bit to bring laptimes more or less on the line with others but its still very fast and has that stupid acceleration in low gears. It lost power and on some tracks gained weight. I wouldnt say its OP anymore and in long stints(30+ min) it seems to chew through its rear tyres which balances out its one lap speed.

I dont know yet how many races I can partake to. These end very late my time and I will probably be busier with work and other stuff until December or so.

Update on our hunt for a house - our bid has been accepted! :omg:

Which is tremendous news. The only thing is that we will have to wait until May/June next year because the people we're buying from are still having their new house built somewhere else. Suits us fine because we're not in a hurry, and it gives us time to plan everything ahead.

The house has solar panels (so no more natural gas!), an own driveway, good insulation and plenty of rooms (even for a sim-racing room for dad).

Should I post a pic?
