Holy crap, that’s rough man. I feel your pain.

Well, on the plus side I'm not stuck in hospital, things could definitely be worse! #firstworldaccproblems

Thanks guys, good fun and nice to get my first online races under the belt with a decent crew.

Race one was a little dull as I couldn’t keep up with Chicken. Looked like my tyre pressures were too low which didn’t really help but he would have been too fast anyway.

Race 2 loads more fun! We battled pretty much the whole way through, never more than a second apart. Couldn’t quite make a move stick though and made a mistake heading into the last lap which scuppered any chance of one final move. Thanks for the close racing OJM.

Got to watch quite a bit of Race 2 as well, Epic battle for 3rd there @Meers! Well done both of you! Watched on my phone so didn’t see who you battled but it was great watching!

Yeah that 2nd race was epic against @Corranga🤩

Man that was an action packed start to the new Season.  Loved racing tonight!

I qualified 6th which I was very happy with, got a great start and a nice run on @SneakyNinja in the Aston in front of me.  To avoid ramming him up the chuffer I pulled right, and in doing so caused the accident right at the start of Race 1.  Someone clipped my rear, as I presumably swung across and into them, and round I went causing the field to spin and dodge and cause general carnage.

So sorry!

Bent the car but was able to rejoin and keep up with a few people - until, just like @milko, my bloody internet cut out.  In 3 years of online racing its never done that before.  Balls.   So that was Race 1 over and out, but I made it back in time for Race 2.

I thought Id get another bite at the apple and start in my qualifying position again, but for some reason I started dead last on the grid?  Anyhow, had a good race from there and made up a bunch of positions to eventually get up behind @SneakyNinja again.   And could I get past.  Damn you Gary.  Zero mistakes, Vertappen levels of commitment to corners I was having a cheeky look at, so I had to back out each time to avoid wiping us out.  It was brilliant and so close.

It was amazing! No idea how I held @Meers off, he was clearly faster than me, especially in sector 3. Great clean racing though, really enjoyed it!

What did happen at the start of race 1? I got off reasonably quick but someone still managed to give me a nudge just before the braking area for t1. Luckily it didn't really cause me any problem and I was able to not go into the back of @EuroVapeSim2but it was a good kick of adrenaline. The tyre marks on the start grid looked like some dancing went on.

That was so cool to watch from Meer’s perspective, how he tried to sneak up on you one wheel on the grass, deleting the ad board, everything. Thanks for the entertainment and welcome to the friendliest and best racing gang!

Incredible evening of racing, really enjoyed that.  Thanks guys :)

Pleased with the podium in race 1, and although the second race was a bit of a disaster (had a corner exit oversteer moment which sent me to the back), it was fun battling through the pack and chasing down @SharkyOB.... until my game crashed.  I can't remember the last time that the game hard crashed like that (it's crashed at other times lately, but that was due to the headset getting in a flap).  I'm on Windows 11 now so I'm hoping that isn't something to do with it?

I’m also running 11 and it’s never crashed for me, but then I’m only a week in 😂

During the practice session someone joined the chat, I heard the bong, then all of my audio cut, which was fun!

@kiroquai I can't help but note all these other new guys and remember that you said you might be able to join sooner or later... :eyebrows:

It is awesome to see some familiar faces joining in with this! That said, Mexos, Meerman and Marmite should be careful as if they ever come into close proximity on-track they’ll likely open up a portal from which Picasso of Pain from the old F1 league will emerge in his 2012 Red Bull and run them all off track.

As for me… hopefully some point this year :). Combing the being a Dad thing with work is challenging (much respect to the racing Dads out there) but getting a little easier in time.

Blimey, that was pretty good!

Pleasantly surprised to qualify 4th with a time in the 1.35's. I'm convinced there's something different between the single player and multiplayer aspects that means I'm faster online. I spent HOURS trying to get into the 35's and never managed it and only occasionally getting into the 36's. Then online - bosh. Happens most weeks as I'm sure you all think I'm sandbagging!

Anyway - the best bit isn't the qually times it's the racing baby and last nights was great. It's all a bit of a blur but I recall a great battle with @davejm in the first race who was faster than me and even my Aston (which is the wiiiiidest aston in the world) wasn't enough to keep him behind for ever.

Second race and the conditions knackered the rear grip of my car and I was losing time on exit, everywhere. I was also getting the weirdly unpredictable braking again. In the first lap (I think) Dave Tokyo drifted the entry to the long straight and being alongside him, I took the hit. Ah well, no malice and it sent me to the back of the field so I had some making up to do! In my eagerness I got a tad optimistic in trying to get both @Count Buffalos and @davejm in one go at the end of the straight and hit @Count Buffalos - really sorry mate!

The last half of the race was spent rubbing my chuff back against @Valver's looming Lambo. *Very* close at times but as ever, hard but very fair racing and it was fantastic. Again, I suspect I was the slowest of the two in overall lap times, but as they say - possession is 9/10's and I deployed the Aston's wideness again. I don't think you can see from outside but it's hard to drive with my arms out wide like this.. :D

(I was picturing this scene as I drove down the straights!)

Ha, I wish @Picasso Of Pain would join us. The more, the merrier. @myoozikk too, everyone from the old F1 gang! 😄

Mrs Meers allows me to do some training a couple of nights per week, after the kids go to sleep 😴 😅. She's a star.

It does cost me dinner and a movie sometimes though 🤣

Correct, offline and online have slightly different BoP even if you have 2022/Open Season selected and I think its mainly vehicle weights. How and how much and which tracks and cars differ? I dont know exactly, but they do. Also in multiplayer track often isnt fully rubbered as it is in sp if you select optimal track conditions. In mp track develops and isnt always 100 % grip yet even if it says its optimum. In your case you probably had just had a break between practice and race and didnt keep eye on delta so you didnt overdrive. :)

(Overdriving is definitely an issue though :)

Thanks for the race last night. Enjoyed it even if I did get a drive through.

Watching the clips, I'm losing a ton of time on corner entry that I need to look at.

Will see how my shoulder goes next week and try for some practice, I know barthurst so that's to my advantage although not in ACC admittedly. Missano was another new track for me so can accept being off the pace.
