nooo! the Challengers Pack is the one with the BMW M2!

The GT4 one is fun too but it doesn't have this car in it.

balls! You tried this one?

I went into windows sound settings and switched my output devices sound format to 32bit, 48KHz

someone else changed it the other way, down to 44KHz and got the same fix.

Or:

The error happens while reading some files in the Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Config/ folder. Make sure ACC does not get blocked by Antivirus or Windows Ransomware Protection.
If this does not help, rename the Config folder to some other name, it will get recreated (and you have to do your game settings again).

Or:

If your game crash on game start, just remove these folders:

C:\Users\ *username* \Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione
C:\Users\ *username* \AppData\Local\AC2

Now verify your game files and restart your game.

(you'd want to copy your saved stuff with that one! Bit drastic.

Thanks all, that was highly amusing (and man but those cars are frustrating at times, but it all sort of seems to average out).

So, the sponsors this season already have the potato starch people but maybe that Cavalier as well?

Didn't Ben say Valver's car looked like a Lotus Carlton??

he took it back when Valver said something mean* about his elite strap

()

Hahaha.

That was fun. 8th to 3rd twice in a row. If only I hadn’t utterly ballsed qually up.

You really can’t get away with mistakes like you can in GT. Just slightly over the edge and the game gives you a big slap in the face. Survived a 360 in the second race just about. My tyres were utterly destroyed after mind.

What's not to love about this! 😄

Brilliant close racing tonight.  Loved it!

Replays will follow later...

As a kid I was always convinced the Cavalier was used as the cop car in Robocop. I watched it back finally at a higher less blurry res and it’s just not. Gutted.

Well that was rather embarrassing. My first contact with the wall for a few seasons - at least I made it a good one!

Missed my braking point then took avoiding action to make sure I didn't tag anyone else, but that left me with a rather solid wall contact. Then for some reason I couldn't start the engine (I suspect I was hitting the wrong button) and I sat there watching everyone sail past. (Cue hamlet cigar advert music for those old enough to remember those)

Still, the close racing was great while it lasted, but let's not use the M2's again, eh? ;)

Sorry again for the contact at the hairpin. Watching it back I think because you were so tight to the inside you needed to continue to brake a bit more than I expected and I was focused on being able to draft you up the hill, so I got on the power where I would normally rather than where I needed to.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the car, but the racing was great. Cheers all.

The engine noise on those highlights is hilarious. Like we're all racing in Roombas or something. I got caught out about three times with it suddenly seeming to need a lot more braking time than even normally, quite embarrasing really. After dropping my 'incidents per race' dramatically of late, that was right back up there.

Porsche Cup next novelty race I reckon, unless we do some GT4. Takes a bit of getting used to no traction control with all that power, but awesome once you have.

Sounds good to me. A bit like the F1 drivers when they did:

(They should do this every year!)

No probs - I was being extra careful to give you room and not slide out into you, so was a bit slow.

Oh, one thing that our new members might not have realised and I'm not sure it's been mentioned - we all kind of adopted our own car designs. Not full on custom PSD jobbies, but a common colour scheme that we use for all cars. It's dead handy for recognising each other on track.

I'm always the black car with hints of orange. @Meers is usually orange, @Valver is lime green and so on...

Apologies young man. With my old eyes you're just an orange blur :)

As it should be! -_-

Hang on, was that a compliment or not? :blink2:

Good!

In other news, we may get a new participant from the Prime Motorsport gang (the endurance racing crew Erik, Oli, Cillian and I are part of). It's Nicolas, and I think you've seen me mention him before. Hugo, from the same team, has raced us before too. I'll try to get him to join again as well. 😆

Also, my South African colleague (immigrated to the Netherlands recently) has bought ACC as well (I didn't pressure him at all, honestly!) and is currently training to join us in the near future. Still on a controller, but he's working on getting a wheel. He used to play Dirt Rally a lot.
