@mexos

Do you mind sharing your setup for barca? I see we're using the same car.

Sure, I'll send you it when I finish work get on the PC later. If you need it right now and have the Dave academy setups it's just one of those. Think it's the standard race one (the one that isn't RF or RS) but I added more wing. On the whole I'm not that convinced about the Dave stuff so I might cancel it. I tried it because I really don't have the will (or skill) to mess about much. I find them very tail happy which is not what I want in a car.

Cheers mate, no rush I just think I can compare and see if there is anything I can use myself while doing my setups.

I've had continued internet issues since last week, I'm not going to be able to race tonight, I keep getting kicked off servers after 10 minutes regardless if I'm on my WiFi or mobile hotspot.

Really hope I can find a reliable solution for next week.

well done on the wins, @mexos

Strange old night for me - fast in practice, fast in quali, mysteriously unable to drive in race 1 and 3rd down to being lucky to get 10th even though I never actually binned it properly, just slid everywhere. And then third in race 2 more or less back to normal.

Race 1 - Started 10th and got a good start weaving past @Meers to nab a few places in the drag to Turn 1...

Race 2 - Did it again!  From P10 to P5 no less

Shame I wasn't fast enough to legit hold those places.  Finished P8 in both races.  Better results than my P10 'qually pace would warrant.

Highlights to follow shortly.

Cheers @milko. That was fun, pity @OJM CHICKEN had that moment as we were going to have a nice fight I think.

As normal for me, I tense up and make mistakes at the start of races. I really need to work on that, it's all the in head. Pretty sure my best lap in the race was better than qually.  And it looks like I was too far back on the start?

Nurburgring will be a test, it's a technical track that one. I've been driving it for years in GT but I don't think I've driven it close to correctly ever. Glad it's not the tight version of the chicane at the end of the lap. That thing has had me in to the barriers many a time.

No idea what happened in race 2. I mean I was speeding at the start so I got a drive though, but I was speeding because I thought I was out of position .

I checked the replay straight away and it had me lined up ahead of @davadvice1 when we were static,

but as I ran out of fuel in the last corner of race 2, I dropped from 9th to 12th, so I think I should have been behind him.

Following the green arrows, I would have been inside his car at the start which is why I accelerated (and ended up speeding).

Couldn’t find the pace in either race, I had a mishmash of a setup too, really need to kick this damn chest infection too as I spun twice from coughing 😅

One to forget from me!

Not sure I completely follow you but just in case; the sprint race quali holds for both races, how you do in race 1 doesn't affect race 2. Start procedure is to stay in your green box all the way until the 'hold your speed' bit, at which point you have to keep around that value until the lights change.

ok cool, that’s what I thought, but it doesn’t fit with what happened, i think.. (ignoring my confusion above about incorrect starting position).

I was placed on track correctly in front of Dave.

I stuck in the green box ok but was inside Dave (oo-er etc) I think he even commented in the chat for me to get in front of him.

I gave it too much gas and was speeding so drive through.

Had I not, we’d have gone green inside one another suggesting I was too far back. I was at the front of the green box.

He didn’t get a penalty so obviously was in the right place.

Not that it really matters as I was crap anyway 😅

I think first for GT3, but maybe not for all cars? There's definitely an art to getting on the gas at just the right moment (and/or off the brake if you use that to hold the speed beforehand).

When the procedure enters the final phase with speed limit it will hand out DT penalty if you either average above the limit during the phase before green lights or if you are sufficiently above the limit at any point. Ive forgot what that limit is though, maybe 90 or 100 km/h.

It means you can have the accelerator floored and nice warm brakes for T1, but after trying it a couple of times I've not stuck with it. Dunno!

That feels super risky to me, not sure the risk is worth the reward!!

Guys, can we all make sure we have push-to-talk setup for next week please?  Hearing other people's gear shifts and various gruntings is not good for concentration.

Indeed. Here's where you can find the option (in the Discord settings). You'll have to sacrifice a button on your wheel for it.

Was that me? I’d set up Discord over my Quest headset for the first time. I think that I still had push to talk on but apologies if I didn’t!
