GT2, possibly American tracks, 720s Evo and possibly new GT4 cars with new BOP.

GT2 is almost certain. I think they've said 720s Evo won't be for a while if ever. New tracks would be super lovely! New tyre model doesn't seem trailer-worthy but maybe they'll mention it.

I kinda don't think they'll bother with the GT4, they don't get enough popularity. But who knows.

Should be changes to both tyre physics(the model) and the tyres themselves. 2022 tyres have lower rolling resistance and we should see noticeably higher top speeds on longest straights

I’d like to use the Cup cars again, not bothered which.
Like others have noted the relative lack of adjustability and their unforgiving nature seems like a good way of getting better as a driver. Also I think if we used them consistently the spread of performance would be lower between us and so give us some closer racing through the field.

Going back to setup talk for a sec. I've just watched this video from James Baldwin (Worlds fasted gamer -> real GT driver on Jenson Button's team).

TL;DR - He's a second quicker (1:56.6 vs 1:57.6) around Silverstone with his custom setup than he is on the default aggressive.

I can't do a 1:57 on the default setup, so I've got a talent deficit to work on first :) but I was mildly surprised it was that much of a difference. Tyres weren't in the window on default though so we don't know how much of a difference that made on it's own.

Some cars' presets are not very good and Aris hasnt updated them in long time. But for some such as BMW and I believe even Porsche theres surprisingly little laptime to find. And of course 2 most influential parts tend to be pressures and brake bias.

I'm back from two weeks away with work - wazzing round Europe getting fat on hotel food and expensed beer.

But I did keep my sim racing skills sharp, despite missing two races, with this absolute monster (found at the airport in Poznan, Poland)

The FOV police have been called!

What are we doing this week chaps?

Waiting for @davejm to get back and set up a GT4 season i think, but if he's got too much on his plate I can make another one-off of some description.

Yeah.  Shall we skip the AC race?  Numbers are always lower (as a few struggle with the game or aren't keen on playing) and we do have some momentum with ACC especially as we have some new guys starting with it.

There's a chance I might be working away again too.

I had some ideas in a spreadsheet for a GT4 mini series so let me take a look at what I came up with.

Ha nice. Which game are they running there?

As for the RCI endurance race on Saturday, we ended the race with a P19 finish (coming from a P28 grid start). Not bad with just the two of us.

The start was hectic. Lots of cars went off in the first lap, including some fast guys. I managed to slip through and found a very good race pace. Pulled off a couple of overtakes and had a pretty good first double stint (2 hours). I pitted when I was in P17 when Hugo too over and did an equally good job as he left the pits in P20, managed P18 when we swapped seats again after his double stint. I think we both lost control once each, with only 1 or 2 places lost at the time.

My 3rd and last stint dropped us back in P21 coming out of the pits. I had a lot of traffic in that one and struggled to get past, despite having much more pace. No major incidents in this one either, and at the end of the stint I entered the pits in P17 again. Hugo took over for the last hour and exited the pits in P19, the position he maintained until the chequered flag.

Are we sticking to certain cars? Talk earlier in the thread of no Porsches or is it a free pick? Never tried a GT4 except the Maserati and it scared me.

Free pick.  Maserati is the only GT4 that doesn't have TC or ABS, so the others are less scary 😀

Ooh is it? Going to try it, if it's manageable then I'd fancy a go in that. 😁
