Pirate Legend and Athena Level 10.  If that doesn't give me board cred, nothing will.  Still a bit shit at PVP, mind you.

Cannot WAIT for this update - it feels like we're getting a full sequel with the new mechanics, Tall Tales, The Arena, Fishing etc etc.  I'm particularly looking forward to Tall Tales and intend to start on them right away with my crew aboard our ship The Molly New.

Calling @mechamonkey to the thread!!

You know, I think I've actually got this installed but never played it (on Xbox, gave it a brief play on PC when all the achievements were still broken). How do you do voice stuff on Xbox One, can I use my old standard 360 headset?

XBL username same as here.

I played for a few hours when it first came out but it then got put to one side to make way for other games. I’ve always intended to give it another shot and this would seem to be the perfect time.

Downloading. I presume my XBL tag (dataDave) is used for the PC version? The accounts are linked.

For some reason my gamertag is my WoW character name. Conqueror Vona. I've tried to set it to dataDave but it already is when I log in. Weird.

Anyway find me on that one. This is a bit shit as a single-player thing.

I am, it's the only thing I've been playing lately. Gamertag below. I'm on tonight. :)

I've just started playing this at the moment and have a question - how does the PVP work? We did our very first mission last night and got killed immediately on our return to drop off - fair enough its a pirate game.

I want to know - How does the levelling / item strength work? It seems like we could get into a loop of going out for first mission, coming back and being picked off by level 100 pirates. How do I know what level they are? I do want some of that interaction so don't want to turn it off completely, but at the expense of any progress.

PvP can happen anywhere, any place, at any time. You need to know one thing. Where. They. Are.

There are no levels or mechanical bonuses at all. Your gear is exactly as good the moment you step into the game as it is when you hit Legend months later. Stuff like special cannon balls do exist but they're not tied to progress, they're just out there in the game world for you to find. The best thing I can recommend is make sure you've regularly got somebody in the crows nest keeping an eye out for other ships, especially when you're going to dock.

If there's a ship lurkin' around there, head for another port.

Or just go in guns blazing. Either works.
