wev
@MikeBeaver Oh ok, hadn't even considered having a ps4 on cfw, didn't know it had been done yet, besides I have a PS3 running cfw with a bunch of emulators on that never gets switched on... My cfw'd PS3 gets used for one single purpose, installing discs to make sure a disc is fully readable before selling, that's it :p
Vorgot
New trailer for this released this morning, it's out in Japan February next year, no news on a western release yet but this is the first release of any real details. Looks fun, considering how much I'm enjoying Hyrule Warriors Legends, seems it has a decent storyline set as a sequel to the original game. Sure it'll be a blast.

wev
Hopefully they have some fun with this and start to throw in characters from other Persona games like with Persona Q
Radish
The fact that it's seemingly a legit sequel set 6 months after P5, coupled with the above trailer, have pretty much made me do a complete 180 on the game. The combat still looks a bit ropey (loads of enemies standing still while you hit them) but I'm excited to see where the story goes.

I was looking forward to it with it being more Persona, but the details that it looks like a story driven sequel have me even more interested. Will need to see more details though but it looks like it could be fun.
MW_Jimmy
I will be shocked if the story is anything more than bobbins - much like every Persona spin-off ever.

The Persona Q story is pretty good, and as bleak as some of the others in the end. And Q2 is shaping up OK so far as well, so I'm still hoping that this may be better as well. The fighting and dancing game stories were very throwaway though, but they were bigger moves in a different direction gameplay wise. Scramble is still positioning itself as an action RPG. Keyboard Koala
Not a big fan of Musou games, but that looks stylish as hell - the devil wears Prada after all. Might check it out. EDIT: Japan only though? ... meh ...

Vorgot
So this came out in Japan last week to positive reviews, and the PS4 version outsold the Switch one 2:1. Funny how Nintendo Life hasn't reported that after banging the drum for a port of P5 (Sorry, that comes across as bitchy, but it is. NL almost ignored the release of Persona Q 2 as it was on the 'dead' 3DS) Am hoping this put the porting P5 to Switch talk off forever so the teams can concentrate on P6 for PS5 and SMTV for Switch exclusively. I was trying to explain to a colleague at work how Atlus worked, he was convinced P5 was published by Sony. I love the Atlus approach. You get a rabid Persona audience and then sell them a 3DS for Q and Q2. You get a rabid 3DS audience for SMT IV, then sell them a Switch for 5. Their games are so good, and more importantly, have a following so they can publish the where they like.
mdn2
To be fair, 2:1 is pretty decent for a sequel to a release that didn't get the first game on the console. Just a similar comparison, Kingdom Hearts 3 sold 4:1 on PS4 Vs Xbox One in the UK. I'm not a fan of third party exclusives. Persona 5 should be on the Switch and SMTV should be on Playstation. Then everyone's happy.

I’d rather have P5R on the PS4 than a switch port of P5. There is only so much dev time. The Switch needs to show a port is worth it, not sure it’s done that

The Switch needs to show a port is worth it, not sure it’s done that Persona 5 wasn't optimised for the PS4, though - it's a PS3 game as well. The Switch could play it easily. And if Atlus don't have time to do it, there's numerous great Switch porting studios out there which would - Panic Button (Doom, Wolfenstein 2, Wolfenstein Youngblood), Saber Interactive (The Witcher 3, Vampyr, Ghostbusters Remastered) and Virtuos (The Outer Worlds, Dark Souls, Starlink) to name a few. And for the most part, these late Switch ports have exceeded sales expectations. It's not like the series doesn't have a history with portables - both P3 Portable and P4 Golden did well. And it's not like Atlus don't know the demand is there - they recently sent out surveys asking if people wanted a Switch port and apparently they got their highest response rate back. The demand is there. The only reason I can see it hasn't happened so far is that there's some exclusivity in place with Sony. Which is fair enough, but they should say that and the matter would be dropped.

I tried the demo and couldn't understand almost any of it, there's a lot more Persona to it than I expected, lots of socialising and chat, not just spamming Y and drooling.
