If anybody fancies a nice game of Mahjong Solitaire I can help you out, with my latest game (joint project with Vogelscript).

We'll be adding more features over the next month. Once we're done the launch promotion will end.

I may have accidentally bought this already without knowing you were working on it. 🥳

It’s great btw. Still trying to get the hang of crank controls. ;)

Fuck me. I'm around 20 000 and it feels like this is taking forever. I'll hold my hands up that I'm not the most patient of people, but the wait is definitely sapping my enthusiasm a bit.

Just got my email to say mine had shipped! 🤩

I'm in the 14000's range if anyone is around that number too!

When I check tracking it still says “awaiting item” – has yours shipped shipped? I’m no. 14525.

Passport says "Awaiting item" like you I think.

It's giving me an estimate of Aug 1st - 3rd.

I guess ours are in the same batch.

I was wondering why there wasn’t any sort of site reviewing games that aren’t part of the season. Then I remembered that only 15,000 consumers actually have one. It makes me wonder if the niche is going to kill it before it really begins.

Not a concern. As you have said, it's a niche product with no ambitions for mainstream coverage. And they've committed to meet the demand for the console at whatever level that ends up being, so it's not some limited thing either.

I meant more from the perspective of it having an active development community I suppose. Most people on the dev forums don’t actually have units, so are asking people to feed back on performance. I guess it just feels like there’ll be a very limited set of titles, and not a particularly easy way to discover them.

I think itch.io might be the place for side-loading new games. Not having the hardware as a developer is a little unique, but I would have thought that the developer environment is pretty good at creating a sandbox of the limitations that exist. I can see it being a little like Pico-8 where you can probably play everything without owning the hardware.

The crank-controlled tin man dating game was really fun until

Spoiler

I got to the level with the maze of diagonal stairs and random flying pigs

That is some truly horrible game design right there.

Got mine today (Order ~15,5XX). It's smaller than I was expecting, but heavier than it looks. The demo intro is incredibly cute - loved that!

The D-Pad and buttons are a bit stiff and I find the shape uncomfortable to hold. Not super inspired by the first two games but I'll persevere. Roll on Season One 🙂

Give Whitewater Wipeout a chance.  Once you work out the game mechanics (press up as you go off the top of the wave; chain triple and quadruple 360s together), it becomes a really good score attack game.
