Oooh, so the spider whatsername mentions ...

... is indeed Patches? Good to see him in this. Is he the only character to be in all DS games and Bloodborne? Also, where do I find him?

He's in

Spoiler

a cave that's on the Murkriver that goes from the lake in Limgrave to the sea.

And I don't think he's the spider that the noble girl in the Stormshack refers to. Pretty sure that's something else...

Oh!  A question.  How do I upgrade the spirit summons? I've got loads of upgrade items for it but feel like I'm being dumb.

Same for Arts of War, I can see how to change them but no clue how I upgrade them?

Spoiler

For spirits, you need to exhaust the dialogue of the girl in the shack on the road up to the castle. Then find her in the Roundtable and do her little questline, she'll then become an upgrade vendor.

For Arts of War don't you do that at the blacksmith in the Roundtable?

I have a question too, I've already done Margit but:

Who is the NPC summon people are mentioning that can help you out (not spirit summons)? Must have missed that!

Spoiler

Before Margit's fog gate there is a floor message in yellow, those are NPC summons. Player summons are only visible with finger cream and are circular.

Rogier's sign appeared for me for the Margit fight. I don't recall meeting him previously.

Nope, not met him either. I didn't notice any summon signs lying around though, and I haven't used any of the multiplayer items yet (although I know its not a prerequisite as I have an NPC summon sign for the castle boss).

The spirits are upgraded by:

Spoiler

The young woman in the roundtable who you had to encourage to talk with the smithy. Sorry, forget her name off the top of my head…

Oh, I just remembered where I stopped last night, and need some help finding something...

Spoiler

The three wisened beasts - glowing turtles. I got one that's just at the front, and I got the invisible one that's just round the back in the small floodplain/giant puddle. Where the fuck is the third??? I want to know what's in that little tower.

Thanks, but RE upgrading arts of war I can't do them at the blacksmith, he just seems to let me change them like I can at a grace site.  Will have a look again next time I play.

Is there a way to dual weild with vagabond? I have a few different weapons and not sure how to assign to left hand. I only seem to be able to use a shield.

Yes I just did this myself after exploring Castle Morne and finding a sweet claymore.

Just remove the shield and equip the other sword in that hand.

I had to unequip and remove the shield fully though cos I couldn't roll or jump if I kept it on.

Just beat Liono and got a sweet massive sword I can't use till I have 40 strength.

40 just how.

I think with 27 strength you'd be able to use it, as this game still ahs the old 'two handing increases STR stat by 50%' thing.

Don't ask, just understand: using two hand invisibly increases your strength.

So 27 + 13.5 = 40.5.

Ah, the whole “where has everyone upgraded their kit to more than +3” had an obvious answer.

and running around with a +5 astrologers staff and the starting pebble spell makes short work of some specific types of xp farming fodder.

Oh man I'm playing this on my bro's PS4 and I can't get along with it at all. I seem to die at every stage, I'm at Margit the Omen and I'm getting destroyed. Parry is harder too compared to previous Dark Souls, though that was a while ago but I really want to progress but I'm getting chewed out. I'm flailing at every encounter instead of actually fighting and it does seem right.

There’s so much to explore, just go for a wander 😀.
