Ranni the Witch's questline?

That's what I've been doing all day. What a time to be jobless.

No, I just found the boss and eventually merked her. No bow with which to cheese, had to do it the hard way :(

You are right, it is this version of humanity, lasts till you die

Ah, ok, that does make sense, but the Rune Arcs seem much rarer in this than Humanity was in the Souls titles. I've found literally 1!

yeah it was the first one... it's not let me use my jellyfish or zombie summons I have, which is a bit annoying - I see from the video above that I should be able to.

Here's my effort:

It hasn't got very many moves really. Concentrate on getting your dodges timed correctly and it's entirely possible to do it without getting hit - I would have here except for a couple of silly errors.

The second main dungeon has a great shortcut I wasn't expecting. Praise the sun! The grace placement is starting to give me anxiety though, you get so many in the open world that it's really unsettling just going back to regular old Souls bonfire placement in the dungeons.

And that's the credits rolled.

Genuinely one of the most magical experiences I have ever had with a videogame.

Relentlessly oppressive, but stunningly mesmerising. Truly sensational.

12 out of 12 eggs.

Now to get back to the lands between again! Got so much more to see!!!

Bloody hell, well done! I've basically only done Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula and Stormveil Castle so far. You must have beelined the main path to have finished it so quickly. Respect!

Haha thanks! I have had 5 days odd work and just put 10 hours in easily each day haha! Honestly incredible. In hindsight I wish I had taken it slower!!!

Still so much to see!

Man this game, it's one in a generation isn't it. FROM have really excelled themselves from already lofty places. I've done most of lingard but drew the line at Caelid so I;ve gone north. I desperately need to find someone selling upgrade materials, I got a nice curved sword off the guy in the Evergaol nearest the beginning. I saw someone say yesterday that they found someone selling standard stones, is that North of the castle as a hint?

Nah still explored an absolute tonne, did quests and what not. Looking at my trophies still got some bosses and stuff to clear up.

Pacing was on the money, if not too flipping big! I have quite a bit of experience with their lineup, and can see how it could take others longer, and some people way faster!

Yes.  Plus, you alredy know which kind of location is best for sourcing stones, right?

I am loving the gushing in this thread, I too feel it’s an absolutely monumental and super special game. It’s contending for the best game I’ve probably ever played!

Also, to think… Halo 5 and DS3 came out about the same time? So in the same amount of time From made THIS, while 343i made Halo Infinite 😂

…not to actually forgot that From also made Sekiro in between! 😬

I've kinda hit a wall. 30 hours in on my melee character and all the places I want to go are far too hard for me. My new astrologian was doing ok but now I'm running into magic resistant enemies and it sucks.

Been exploring more of Stormveil tonight. Managed to open one of the doors that "does not open from this side" but I'll be fucked if I can find out how to get to the other one.

This one however took me underneath Stormveil to the Crypts. You don't want to go there lol

I find it difficult to comprehend and articulate how grand this game actually is, so-much-so, i choose to only post the regular stuff about stats/parameters etc., of which i know plenty.

The scope of it, is the sign of a super confident production studio at the top of their game, and what they've created is utterly mind-boggling!

Where do go after clearing the castle? I've explored so many places since but don't think I've made any progression in the quest, which is what I want to do now. I know I am headed for the academy but where do I have to to in order to get inside?

Only an hour or two on this tonight but achieved a lot of early game stuff. Met the wolf guy shown on the loading screens and killed him and a giant sloth at the same time. Kenneth got his fort back but didn’t reward me as promised. Was tempted to off him! And found an absolute arsehole in Stormhill Evergaol who is too tough for me at the moment.

So now I’m back through the Imp Door near the start of the game. Question for @Alan Stockor anyone else who has rinsed that bit…

Spoiler

I yoinked the (excellent) talisman from the two spiders, but is there any reason to go back there and kill them? Or is it a dead end?

It is crazy to me that if Stormveil Castle was an area in an earlier game, it would be hailed as one of the great Soulsborne areas and be the centrepiece of that game, but here it is just one area in an enormous gameworld. I don't understand how From have done it. The next legacy dungeon area I did was just as good. They can't keep up this quality for the whole game can they?

Just follow the arrows from the grace points in the lake area, they literally point you there. It's enormous, it should be obvious when you see it. Then you just have to start making your way up it...
