One thing I'm looking forward to seeing in the future is just how the Dark Souls/Sekiro/Bloodborne speedrunners run this game. Or even how they even start to plan a run. Will be fun to watch.

What even counts as a run? All bosses would be insane.

Even I have been there!

There's a warp.

A warp to a random area high up that you can’t get down from though. Not a way to explore the place and get the map or to the areas it links to.

Just checked out of curiosity. Zero speed runs so far.

They're already routing on the Speedsouls Discord. Some of the skips via jumping/Torrent are already mental.

I did Godrick this morning too, wasn't so bad.

I just arrived at him before quitting to make dinner so only had time for two attempts.  First phase is very manageable although I did use my jellyfish (who lasted about twenty seconds!) but that second phase is pretty wild.

I reckon I should be able to upgrade my sword from +5 now though as I’ve found a few stones and the extra damage should allow me to easily swing this in my favour. Plus, dig out the heat resistant pants…

One thing I will say is that his design is spectacular. The art team have been knocking out of the park all the way to this point.

Yes!

I left after inspecting a giant.

I find it difficult to comprehend and articulate how grand this game actually is, so-much-so, i choose to only post the regular stuff about stats/parameters etc., of which i know plenty.

The scope of it, is the sign of a super confident production studio at the top of their game, and what they've created is utterly mind-boggling!

I couldn't agree more. Just a shame it's so easy really.

The grow in catacombs and graveyards.

How did you get to the royal capital? And

  Reveal hidden contents

Mount germir and the mountaintops of the giants?

Just found a Treasure Trap and it’s warped me to the Royal Capital. It’s the only part of the map I have left to uncover. However, there is a big enemy and I can barely scratch its health using the Grafted Blade Greatsword! It also kills me in a single hit. There’s a portal at the side of the enemy and a lever for a lift too that’s further back. Neither of them work. Looks like you have to beat the big guy first. I’ll try smashing it up and see what happens. The Treasure Trap is.......

Spoiler

At the top of Tower of Return on the Weeping Peninsula.

Also, checked my inventory and I haven’t found an item to boost Equip Load.p so far.

My jellyfish is +3 and lasted until phase 2 of the Godrick fight. Christ knows how I would have done it on my own!

In my two attempts the jellyfish was dead in thirty seconds at most! It’s only +1 though.

10hrs in, level 19. Claymore+1 and Margit is down! Fucking yes.

It’s was so pleasurable to do a couple of runs, wander off, come back and do some more. I love it when something just clicks and your like ‘oh I get it now’. It all flows.

Think I'm gonna have to leave Rennala for a bit and go exploring until my vigor is higher, her attacks in the second phase just one-shot me if I get hit. The run back + her pretty much threat-free first phase are too long and boring just to get killed for a single mistake.

This is where the open world comes into its own because if this was a traditional Souls game I'd be gritting my teeth right now at the prospect of either trying over and over or grinding for Souls in areas I'd already been to. But no more!

This was me earlier today. Worst bonfire to boss run so far, plus annoying first phase. If you want a good tip;

Spoiler

Wolf trio. They keep stunning and cancelling her attacks.

Big lad went down like a sack of shit! 😂 You can’t select anything on the lever to call the lift and the Portal is selectable but just says  “Cannot be used now”. Doesn’t make any sense why the lever and portal are there. Looks like the only way to leave this bit, is to use the map to fast travel out of the area.....which feels a bit crap. Would have been cool to have been able to carry on into the area, if you’re able to take the boss down. Maybe they originally designed it that way and then took it out for some reason?

That’s part of what I meant about the Runes and fast travelling. Instead of having to grind stuff over and over, and getting frustrated, you can just head out into the world, earn the Runes by exploring or fighting and then jump straight to any Grace Point whenever you want, in order to level up. It’s awesome!

I just beat Rennala. The second phase was a complete mess, even with her energy attacks that leave her wide open. It was probably the jammiest kill I've had in the game though...

Spoiler

I got the final hit on her whilst the dragon summon was out - I tried to roll from its flame attack as she fell, but didn't quite make it.

YOU DIED.

LEGEND FELLED.

Then it loaded into the next area and a new site of grace.

Fuck it, we take those!
