I ended up in the depths of Stormville

Down in the smelly bits with rats and this masssssive horrible looking thing that I ran away from by heading up the longest ladder since MGS3 with a ‘snake’ comment at the end hahaha

I must admit, I find the unusual UI and the need to go to the community to find out how to do things part of the appeal of both MH and DS. 
 

 

 

This being the first time in memory where I have gone to fextralife and all the item details are just '???' makes me realise how much effort and accumulated knowledge goes into those things.

Some dragons do fly away or vanish. They're just guarding.

Just fancied going back to Stormveil castle and mopping up some of the enemies that I cowardly hid from on the first visit.

 

There are just so many amazing design elements to this place - it might be my favourite dungeon in any game tbh.

I killed an Erdtree Avatar on foot with me morning star. 
 

This is huge for me, as I am notoriously extremely poor at dodging and waiting for openings, and generally just like to fucking rush in and smash shit till it’s dead and hopefully survive myself. 
 

I have no patience. I get over excited. I cannot bide my time and carefully chip away. But if I’m ever going to kill that Black Knight sod with the key in the closed castle room, I have to learn how. So this was a decent step towards that.

I think this is one you're supposed to fight.

 

My first few hours with this have been quite frustrating. Lots to like, but all the above annoyances + randomly getting booted off my horse because I'm being invaded, I don't know why I can sometimes use my spirits and sometimes can't, etc.

For me it’s just a house where I get quests. Then when I’d finished them all I got the chance to fight the boss?

You can just run in get key and run out 

 

Anyway I've been cautiously the Raya Academy and was making excellent progress, beat the mid level boss on my second attempt, it was pretty easy tbh.  Grace point there is my latest one. 

 

The making my way across the roof. Drop down into a room clear it and see this guy waiting at end of bridge. 

 

Sooo he killed me with his flaming crossbow bolts.  Make my way back thinking I have him now but nope he had me again 11k runes and I've turned it off to have a break and reduce my rage. 

 

Such a good game but boy did I curse.

Today I've been exploring the lakes.

Really should have come here before Caelid and the area north of Caelid. I'm just going round whomping everything easily. On the plus side, I finally found enough level 3 smithstones to get my sword to +9. Which meant I could instantly get it to +14, because I already had enough level 4 and 5 stones to do it.

 

Anyway, favourite moment of the lakes so far: giant enemy

Time to finally head to the Capital, not sure where the grace's are directing me too at the moment, don't seem to be able to go in through the front door

 

Need to find the final level weapon upgrade material to level my Blasphemous sword to +10

 

I fuckin love this game, trying to get my lad to get it for the xbox so I can play through with him too
