My game just crashed on PS4. Never had a game crash before, strange.

 

Has anyone tried Shabriri's Woe talisman in a bossfight? Will the boss focus entirely on the wearer? I was thinking I could get summoned and then run in circles. :lol:

I was stuck on Godfrey for a while earlier but it was just a case of staying close and doing one or two hits at a time whilst rolling through his attacks. It takes a lot of discipline. It helped me a lot to summon the Horned Arrow Bro halfway through the fight, once I was in the swing. Summoning straight away seems to get him killed immediately.

was the boss, but then I realised he was the halfway boss. He took 3 attempts.

That's what seems to be working for me so far - the damage is so scary though. :D and I still haven't got very far in the encounter so I don't know what's coming...

Means someone has killed a main boss. What platform you on? For example, I killed a main boss on Xbox tonight.

Spent an enjoyable hour helping people to beat a catacombs boss near to the lakes. It must be a pain in the ass trying to beat it offline. 
 

strangely though, I’d get summoned within a minute each time, but when I used my material to see what summons there were nearby none were revealed.

Jesus, just spent the last 4 hours banging my head against this 'Git of a boss (geddit?).

Doing better now I've managed to get reliable dodges using a double-tap (can dodge the moves that got me before all day long now) and also since I realised there is no point having the heater on if I never use it, so have switched to two-handing. On that note, I do wish they had a symol on the dpad UI to show you're two-handing, as it's easy to switch and not realise, especially when I cant actually see my dudes hands. Also prompted me to finally look at my weapon ashes, though ended up not using any as they dont seem a great fit here.

 

Anyway, progress, but still not there yet. I just get whittled down by the second phase as I only see a couple of gaps for as single strike, so his damage ends up outpacing mine. I could go away and come back levelled a bit higher, though I'm at 24 now so stats-wise should be ok. I'm refusing to use any summons though so there is that. I nearly first-tried him by accident when I did use them so want to manage without. Ho hum. I'll get the fucker tomorrow.

Side note - I did spend half that time focusing on timings for heavy attacks, charges, jumps etc now that the two-handing is making staggers viable, but has anyone else noticed that sometimes jumping attacks dont actually 'attack', you just jump, impotently? I think I'm bumping into him (not taking a hit, just making contact) and that sometimes interrupts the strike? Is that a thing? Unless it's a stamina thing, where I have enough for the jump but not the swing....

Normally the asshat doesn’t stop attacking for 1 second, let alone most of the fight :lol:

I dunno, I reckon after he was hit so hard by so many for 5 seconds solid he decided to peace out of there. ;) That's the second boss I've had glitch on me after Ulcerated Tree Spirit, but they're both bullshit bosses so, oh well.

Played around 80hrs and haven’t experienced anything like that, other than on that boss.


Don’t use the camera lock all the time! 
seriously, don’t use it especially for the larger enemies, and especially again if you’re on horseback. 
 

It’s far easily to manually adjust the camera while attacking with the triggers. 
 

I use the lock all the time against smaller enemies but often disengage it for the bigger ones. It makes - for example - the dragon fights way easier! 
 

I think I made the same point in the Demon’s Souls thread back in 2009 😂 

 

Edit: Also! Why is it so good? because it's a weird ominous place in a game that has a really strong core combat mechanic and there's just more of it. There's a boss in a small environment? Unlock the camera and the fight is just a good as ever.
