Call of Duty - Modern Warfare

Have to say, I had no problems getting through the tiers playing WZ, and I don't play that heavily really. I do think the XP is a lot more generous there.

Hopefully they get some metrics from that.. is it only people in a certain level range that got it? A pity gesture. I think, from a dev viewpoint if the high level rewards are the ones you put the most effort into it would be pretty dispiriting if only a small percentage of people ever got them.

Most of the 'rewards' in the Battle Pass are incredibly low effort, surely? Static 2D emblems, weapon blueprints that are mostly just combinations of existing attachments and a custom paintjob, etc. I guess the operators are a fair amount of work but it's only their different outfits that are locked away behind higher tiers, not the operators themselves.

Don't get me wrong - I think it's all reasonably good, harmless fun and I've bought and completed BP season 2 - but I hardly think the devs are crying too much over their unappreciated labours of love.

It's an interesting thing, the battlepass.

I wonder how many people pay but don't earn enough cod dollars back to pay for the next one?

I am going to get season 2 done today (2 levels to go). I'm not sure if I'll jump straight in with the third though - it's quite a time sync and though time is relatively plentiful, I'm not sure if I want to look back on this time where anything was possible, but I totally managed to unlock that character skin instead. (I do want to unlock that skin though).

*bangs same drum he's been banging for months*

There's not nearly enough xp for the battle pass. When it's a double xp weekend that's probably a little too generous, but the fact a) they have tier sales and b) they gave away ten free levels means they know damn well it's normally not enough. I've never gone to the wire on a battle pass I've tried for but I bought the 17 quid +20 tiers one (only when I got to tier 75) because I never would have made it and I play it almost every night. I wish I'd taken note of how much I've put in over this season.

Whether they tweak it or not I don't know. I doubt it. I'll play as long as the game is fun. Part of my gaming make up is tied to some kind of tangible progress so battle passes are perfect in theory; play the game, get some loot. I love that shit. I just wish it wasn't so frustrating.

Anyway, 5 more levels to 155. Doubt I'll make it before reset tonight.

I think you may need to reread the lockdown guidelines!

Haha, sorry.  I guess I'm thinking more about the potential to improve the home and garden, learn some new skills ...write that concept album.

11GB on PS4.

Dunno whether to bother with the Battle Pass this season. Caned the first one and unlocked everything with plenty of time to spare, then COD fatigue set in during Season 2 and I only unlocked up to about the 30th tier. Wish they'd just leave Shipment 24/7 and Shout House 24/7 permanently.

Still 150 innit? Does that mean trios has gone?

Unless one team only gets two players, I think they must have tweaked the total player count too!

Bit disappointed that there's no sign of vehicle changes for WZ yet. Well, apart from cosmetic options, which hardly seem likely to address the current endgame issues.

Was also thinking there might be some hint about further WZ maps in the pipeline, but I suppose each one is a fairly huge endeavour. I'm sure it's already been mentioned a few times but I do love the way they've glued in (versions of) several of the regular MP maps into WZ Verdansk - I've really enjoyed discovering them.

I just about got the battlepass finished last night.

I think I'm going to pass on this season and play some other things for a bit. Last night I didn't really want to keep playing but with 1& a half levels to go I played half a dozen Rust/Shipment games that I didn't really enjoy just to get it done. Weirdly once I'd finished, I decided to play a few more games of my own choice.

I guess being told you have to get something done by a deadline feels like work no matter what it is.

Not if you didn't unlock them I don't think.

I'm with Wah on this. I've had a look at the season pass and there's not much I'm wanting so I'm hoping that, like Destiny, I've broken it's spell.

WZ BR seems to be quads and solos only at the moment - trios not available.

There's a little intro video for season 3 when you start it up that's really silly if you've ever played Rust - made me think of Police Squad shootouts between two guys 5m apart.

Is the Cross Play on this for Warzone only? Or does Multiplayer do it too?

Grabbed this for my son, as he has been begging for it for ages and loads of his mates have it, so great for him to be able to socialise with them while shut in.

You can cross play over all the multiplayer

Excellent and great to see it happening more and more. I might jump in myself at some point. Do you need to add friends via an Activision account to party up?

I'm so pleased that on PC I only have to download 15 gigs this patch, it's much better than re-downloading 150 gigs that are already sitting on your hard drive. Plus during the last patch, having to manually restart the download every 10 minutes kept things interesting, and interactive, it was a nice touch.

The slight drawback this patch is that it's only downloading at 70kbps, which I suppose is pretty good because in the old days we used to have to download at 56k, and this is very slightly faster than that!

Overall, I'd describe this as an excellent service.

One thing that I have noticed recently is that due to a lot of people now playing warfare there are more pc players in the multiplayer games. It’s getting a little tiresome to be honest, you have little chance of even reacting to them being on screen let alone shooting them before you die yet again.

So why don't you just turn crossplay off...

I played domination last night for the first time in two weeks as I've been playing Warfare exclusively. What an utter laggy mess it was. People ice skating around the map. Felt like 2001 playing CS on a dial up. :(

PS4 fact fans.

I play it on my Xbox with friends who have it on the PS4. It works fine with console players.
