I watched this last night and enjoyed it. The director worked on Fleabag, and the influence is evident, with all the speaking to the camera. I thought it would have made an excellent family film, were it a tad shorter. A couple of the action sequences were a bit off-tone, overly violent in my opinion, which stops me from outright recommending it for all ages. But overall it gets a thumbs up from me.

I quite enjoyed the first one, it wasn't anything earth-shattering but it was a good couple of hours' entertainment and MBB was great in the lead role. It was much better than the Robert Downey Jr Holmes movies which we watched around the same time and are (I think) the only other recent-ish period adaptations of Sherlock.

The first film wastes a great cast and premise. It was a complete turd, frankly. Hope they get it right this time out.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a turd, but it wasn't very good, so the sequel doesn't have too high a bar to clear to be better.

I thought it was great. But i had a teenage son watching it too and he loved it so i was sort of caught up in the moment.

I'm looking forward to the sequel, I'm sick of po faced chin stroking grim reality movies cluttering up the place. I want more light frothy fun with a bit of mild peril and feisty leading lady
