I had to buy mine separately on eBay too. A Raphnet adapter would be ideal if you're able to use the analogue sticks with the core.

I'm also curious about whether or not Brook Wingman adapters have been tested. I use a Brook adapter with a DualShock 3 for my PS2, so it's basically a wireless PS2 pad.

Edit: annoyingly, it looks like they only handle DS3 on a wired connection.

get a ps classic usb controller. They work perfect with it with minimal lag.

I know that, but I’ve got loads of Dual Shock controllers that I’d prefer to use. I just need RaphNet to replenish their stock, which shouldn’t be too long due to a probable increase in demand.

Several of my favourite games use the analog sticks, so there’s no other way.

Just playing some Wipeout 2097 on the latest nightly and I'd forgotten just how good this game is. It's such a jump from the first game, which was all kinds of junk even then!

I am noticing that when the game changes CD track, it freezes for a second or two, but it's something I can live with in a beta! Will check if there's bug listed for it already.

Here's a doc for anyone who's interested in trying the core out - https://vampier.net/PSX/

Sorry mate, the first Wipeout was a classic. I personally think something was lost with 2, even though it looked a lot better. Feel the same way about Colin McRae and Colin McRae 2.

No way, to me it just feels so unresponsive and annoying. There’s a nice swoosh to the handing in 2097 that the first one lacks!

Interesting. It's certainly more hardcore. Its basically ALL about the L and R airbrakes, going from memory. You can't really steer much at all without them.

The original wipeout was a spectacular total game changing pile of annoying. Looked great and changed the way we saw music in games but was just too hard to play and I love racing games.

Yeah, as I said, its pretty hardcore. You had to use the airbrakes and basically learn the tracks enough to never touch the walls. Once you mastered that, then it was a total joy to play, but I can understand people being put off.

Can someone clarify the new scanline settings? I can't seen to turn on horizontal lines without also turning on vertical lines?

Also, the amount of shadow mask options is a little excessive. Any recommendations.?

I've been playing a lot of PS1 recently, enjoying just idly clicking through games and playing things I missed. I'm finding things hold up a lot better than I expected and I can see myself spending a lot of time in the PSX core.

But I want to avoid getting paralysed by choice. That is, I need to find a focus and stick to it. FVII is doing that for me at the moment for purely nostalgic reasons and I'd like to continue that without falling into my usual trap of having everything and playing nothing.

So, a couple of ideas I've been thinking about:

1) Rename /media/usb0/games to /media/usb0/allgames and starting from scratch. If I hear about a game that sounds good, or I get an urge to play something, I "collect it" (copy from allgames to games). It's not a huge thing, but it adds a bit of friction and limits my options when I'm cruising for something to play.

2) Find a PSX "game of the month" club and let my peers choose for me :)
