Some guy has been working on a 3D voxel engine for a while now. Sorry, can't  remember where I saw it but the FPS demo with full destructiblity was incredible.

This looks ace so I'll be trying it later..

This, perhaps?

My main PC is dead right now, and this poxy laptop is rubbish for gaming, but hopefully sometime next week I'll have a new machine to play this on. Sounds brilliant so far.

That's the one.

It's hugely impressive tech...

This is Teardown - have started a thread.

Noita, meanwhile, is amazing and I can't believe this thread is so quiet.

Self-imposed environmental stealth run this morning. Managed to get three worlds deep before being rumbled by a sniper turret.

If this had more traps and treasure-hunting, and four-player co-op with archetypes and proximity voice chat, it would be my dream game. I wonder how moddable that would be?

Gave this a go, its very punishing, but very good fun.

I kind of wish it wasn't quite so difficult so i had a bit more leeway to play with the environement. My last try I was doing fairly well, full health, good wands etc and then so guy just pops out and one shots me.

I feel like I need a bit more time to think about stuff. For example I have all these potions but never have time to switch and use them. You get mobbed by enemies and over whelmed so quickly.

Really good technology.

I think this looks like something I'd really get into!  I've been playing Enter the Gungeon loads recently, so if I like that, would I like this too?

It's nothing like Gungeon really.  More...Spelunky?

if you like Gungeon, have you played Nuclear Throne?  I personally prefer it!  Noita is very fun though, although I do agree it's on the hard side and certainly needs/deserves a sandbox mode.

This looks great. Is it PC only at the moment though?

The controls are mouse driven (that aims the cursor) so I assume it'll be difficult to hone and probably take a while (seeing as it's a small developer) to come up with a way to transfer M+K to a controller.  They have said they'll look into other platforms when it's out of early access though.  So hard to be accurate using a stick to aim vs a mouse and what with it being a hard game, fuck.....it'd be maddening with twin sticks unless they had some sort of aim assist...but then does it spoil it?  Is it the same game?

I bounced off Spelunky because I didn't like the time pressure it puts you under.  Also, the mouse and keyboard thing puts me off so I'll probably give this one a miss.  I'll definitely have a look at Nuclear Throne though, so thanks for the recommendation!

Just have to recommend Issac here if you haven't played it, it's a crazy huge game with great ballance.

...

Not tried it but there's an option for gamepad in Noita and I've not t run into time limits either so you might still enjoy it!

I thought I'd get bored of this quite quickly. But it's proving very addictive. The ammount of variety possible in your builds keeps me coming back and I feel like I AM getting better.  It's particularly satisfying when you find an unexpected synergy between abilities.

Found a couple of secrets and made it through about 5 or 6 stages now. No idea what it takes to beat it, maybe better reflexes and aiming than mine?

Had a farcical death last night, was great.

Spoiler

Reached the portal with 6HP but an extra life, only to find the whole portal submerged in lava. Between bombs and a potion I try to clear some space to drop in, but nothing doing.

Eventually I decide I'll hover above and drop in while dousing myself with the only available liquid - a flask of anthropomorphic pink stuff.

It doesn't quite do the job and I die, but roll into the extra life. Reach the hub transformed into a flaming skull.

I don't even see this, just assuming I'm on fire and need to extinguish in the water. But I'm a flaming skull, which is killed by water dousing right away. So that was me, dead.

This game.

Enemies swarming beneath me. Panicking, I pick the wrong weapon...

Spoiler

Instead of my best wand I throw a flask of Teleportium. Frantically sorting out wand and flying off as enemies take aim...and vanish, of course.

Ok enough spamming the Noita thread. Shall return once more are on board with GotY.

I was on holiday but yeah this is amazing, I explored a bit of the overworld today and it is massive - so many secrets to solve! I also found out from some Youtube vid that there's a whole other magic system going on; with rare combinations of chemicals you can create super powerful potions.

Whaaaaa?

I mean, don't tell me, but I'm assuming that's a case of mixing fluids in your flask. Wow. Shall experiment.
