The Capture - BBC1

Recommended Posts

Didn't anyone else here watch this?  I binged the first five episodes last weekend before watching the finale on Wednesday.  It is one of the best things I've seen on TV in ages, tightly scripted, dripping with tension with great performances throughout.  Sadly it seems to have been largely overlooked with only 5 million people watching the last episode compared to the 14 million or so who watched the end of the rather average Bodyguard.  I hope it still gets a second series.

I thought it was yet another BBC series that started off reasonably promising with an interesting premise. Then they go downhill with characters making ridiculous decisions in the last couple of episodes, as the plot becomes increasingly silly. See also The Bodyguard and Informer.

Episode 5 was harder to follow because of the flashback structure.

All rather worrying when you see the news about the Kings Cross facial recognition cameras and the Met Police saying they don't know what happened to the data from the trial period...
