*Yes I know Ricardo Montalban wasn't Indian either, but I'm willing to cut a rinky dink 60s series made on a shoestring, where there probably weren't any actors of the appropriate ethnicity wandering around the Desilu backlot, more slack than I am a modern multimillion dollar blockbuster. At least the casting agents at least made a stab at it compared to JJ.

I re-watched Voyage Home for the first time in a while and it’s still huge fun. Plus the Bird of Prey de-cloaking over the whaling boat is one of my favourite moments in Star Trek.

Smart money is on them recycling the scrapped plotline for the third film (PineKirk teams up with his father and/or ShatKirk to erase the JJverse from existence), but with extra whales.
