Umbrella must've added some manners since the RE2 version, as the Mr. X in that one just busted through walls and ceilings.

Regarding Mr X / The Titan in the police station section...

Spoiler

I had a moment where they broke through a wall right in front of me that unlocked a shorcut to a room elsewhere (I think it was the presentation room at the start), so while that moment was a bit 'holy shit!' it was also 'The Mr X usage in this is the best design ever!!!!!!' AND it wasn't 100% scripted there either since I died and revisited that area and the wall remained intact. The pace it adds to the game too is great.

I haven't played a lot of recent games this year but I think RE2 remake will be my GOTY, it's just proper Awesome

Obviously I've played all the originals but how scary is RE2Make or whatever it's called on a scale of wee to poo? I'm not easily scared but too much frantic tension can ruin a game for me. I gave up on BioShock all those years ago because I get fed up of crapping myself whilst trying to fend off some maniac traveling at the speed of light straight at me.

Have you played Resident Evil 7? I'd say it's about as tense and dread inducing as the early stages of that.

Nope, haven't played it. Last Resi I played was 6 I think? Definitely played 5 and obviously loved 4.

The GameCube game was a proper remake that’s since been re-released in HD.

OK gotcha. I guess I never really appreciated the GC version as a genuine remake, more a sprucing up... but point taken, I suppose it was. I may grab the HD version first then before I go for RE2

I wasn't a fan of this nemesis redesign at first but after a few minutes I really got it. It's a similar approach to Birkin, how the "G" monster was building a new body that gradually emerged, but this is more surgical and horrific. His face is now too small for his head and is gradually tearing away from his skull. I like it.

Also regarding if there were any signs when he entered an area, one of my favourite scares in a game was at that one Y junction, when he was just there - three screens into the area, allowing for a false sense of security - walking towards you. No big entrance, no cheap jump scare, but just frigging THERE. Excellent.

All in all I have a real hope that this is going to be the closest thing to a proper original Terminator game ever. Excited.

I kind of hope he doesn't have the rocket launcher this time and they use a different way to give him intimidating range.

I always found it a bit cheesy and Mr.X is plenty frightening and effective just as a weaponless stalker

I would have him use it more sparingly. The cut scene with the chopper is one of my favourites.

So after this the only Resi game that won’t have had a Resi 4 makeover will be the first one.

Resi re-remake incoming for 2021.

And Zero.

And Code: Veronica.

And 7.

Redo 5 and 6 whilst you're at it.
