Anyone remember Manimal? Some of these shows were just terrible.

Yup I do and yes it was terrible in a so crap you could watch it kind of way.

If I remember correctly he takes on Donald Trump in one episode.:o Not able to link at the moment, but it should be on You Tube.

Yeah, I remember Manimal. According to my dad I was a big fan of Automan as a toddler, I don't recall it though.

Also, for everyone listing BSG, that had one season in '78/'79. Pretty sure Buck Rogers doesn't qualify either.

Galactica 80 was a thing. It had Barry Van Dyke in it.

There was an 80s version too with different actors where they find earth and get into 80s style scrapes. IIRC.

Edit: Def II on BBC 2!

The Incredible Hulk (which may be the 70's but I'm having it)

Nobody will ever convince me that the pilot episode of The Incredible Hulk is not the greatest ever opening to a TV show.  The first time he hulks out while changing a blow out during a thunderstorm is just brilliant.

I bought the pilot for a quid on EBay over Christmas, and it is still every bit as great as I remembered.

I remember Manimal and Automan - as well as the usual A-team, Streethawk, Airwolf etc. Wasn’t a fan of Manimal but loved the rest. Battle star Galactica was great too.

Does anyone remember Mr Merlin? I though it ran for a while but I think it only made it to ten episodes.

What about Hardcastle & McCormick?

edit: Miami Vice!

Tour Of Duty was my favorite.

I loved Tour of Duty - it used to be shown at stupid o'clock on ITV (in the small hours with the Mystery Chefs from Get Stuffed, James Whale, The US Chart Show and other quality shows)

You used to have to find it in the listing and manually set your VHS video recorder each week adding a load of extra time at the end in case they messed the schedules up.

Didn't Mr Merlin have the old guy out of Tron and him out of Gremlins in it?

Can anybody remember one about a late night DJ who solved murder cases?

Think it was called Night Caller but I might be wrong.  Definitely was Night something though.

Help me out with a show then.

late night Friday, poss Saturday, but of 30-somethings dicking around, with flashbacks to their youth. Either before or after tour of duty.

one of them had a shit beard, but also might have the guy with the shit beard in 30-something...

Yep, I just pretend the weekly series didn’t exist.
The proper shows are superb.

The Professionals - Started in the 70s, but didn't finish until 1983.

I'm sorry, but that's as British as they come. Might as well let The Sweeney and The Gentle Touch in and then where would we be!?

Has anyone mentioned Scarecrow and Mrs King? I remember liking that. And BJ and the Bear.

Sledgehammer was fantastic - but was late night viewing for me. This still sums it up:

Scarecrow and Mrs King was ace.

Airwolf is on one of the Freeview channels - Forces TV, I think. It has not aged well at all.
