Looks very cool, I'm looking forward to trying it at the end of the month.

@moosegrinderif you can make it to Newcastle you should come up for the games day at the end of the month. It's Saturday 29th at mine. I'm assuming that's what @therearerules is referring to when he mentions the Northern Gaming Meet.

I'd love to but it's a bit short notice. One day hopefully.

Looks absolutely gorgeous.

Will you be at UKGE this year? Whatever, I’m in. :)

Was about to say this too! Let us know if you are at UKGE! Have a buddy that lives dice based games so will be up for giving it a go.

Won't be at UKGE this year for obvious reasons (sob, had a stand opposite the food court! Could have made absolute hay with the table presence on this thing).

Anyway, I've moved the Kickstarter date to 25th August! Because that was after the postponed UKGE, and I'd already paid for a facebook banner for that week by the time it was cancelled. But also because (if it funds) I want to get it into people's hands before Dia de Muertos 2021, so the earlier the better. I've got a few professionally made copies out to previewers and handmade a couple more. I'm keeping a running designer diary on my website (radical8games.com) and Boardgamegeek, which isn't actually that bad to write. It's just a deep dive into the decisions for everything really.

What I'm mainly disliking, and the worst part of the job, is social media. More accurately, shilling on social media. But anything to get the word out!

Yeah, and I’ll be doing giveaways there, but tbh I hate Facebook. Not the people on there, but the company and the amount of sheer nonsense. Still, posting photos up ain’t a bad shout!

@therearerules I'm with you about Facebook really, my only contact on there is the boardgame groups and I'm not sure I'll keep that up for long but it would seem to be an easy way to get to many thousands of avid gaming consumers.

Board Game Trading & Chat are also trying to get a Youtube channel going and have done interviews with games retailers, artists, players, etc etc. They might be keen to do an interview and overview of your product as I am sure they are looking for content, it can't be easy coming up with stuff to populate a youtube channel.

Hate it all you want; ignoring it's usefulness as a marketplace will be a big mistake!

I'm not ignoring it, I've got The Boardgame Group and Boardgame Exposure doing banners and giveaways, closer to the launch date, and I've been joining in there. I guess it's hard to feel like I've made a connection, so sharing things isn't like sharing things with a group of friends like this place, but more chucking advertising at people you only have transactional relationships with.

It's because it's so fleeting. You have to straddle the line of being omnipresent but not making people sick and tired of your presence. It's so fucking difficult to get any kind of foothold with anything creative these days. People's attention spans just can't hold onto shit for more than 2 minutes.

Right, shared them with 4 different groups on facebook. I feel slightly more confident in Instagram, Twitter and Reddit (although that's mostly civ vi memes), so I'll see how they land on FB before going elsewhere.

You should contact the critical roll crew to see if they'll do a one off game or something. They may insist you do a sponsorship deal and no idea how much that would cost, but it would get you mad exposure. Can't hurt to ask!

As loathesome as it is have you got budget for paid promotions on those platforms? Because that's the only way to guarantee reach :/

Yeah, videos from Tantrum House and Dice Tower, sponsorship on Board Game Exposure and TheBoardgameGroup. At least that way the people running the groups, rather than FB get the money.
