I having the same issue. Devs are working on a patch to sort it. According to the Codemasters forum it should be available in the next few days.

So how are folks finding this?  Personally I'm loving it. The Driveclub and Onrush influences ooze through the games veins, all for the better I might add.

My only issue is that Im having to hold off progressing the career too far ahead of my PS5's arrival, given I'll have to start from scratch again. Still atleast there is the photomode to keep me entertained in the meantime.

yeah i'm really enjoying it, can definitely see the driveclub in there, most of it is like driveclub but with mud. it looks nice and runs really smooth (on pc anyway), the lighting/puddles and stuff look great. not too keen on the gymkhana (mainly because i'm terrible at it) and the darkness mind, although the seemingly scripted lightning so you can seee where you're going is cool. as people have said there are a few events that are oddly really hard, but you can skip whatever you want so that's cool. the ice ones are much easier once you buy a better car in that class (or it could be because i've got used to it). it's quick and easy to create suitably garish paint jobs, so that's a big plus too. the handling is pretty great, it's inbetween sim and arcade, but sometimes goes a bit funny, like at low speed, but you're hardly ever going slow anyway.

what's going on with the throwdowns though - how do you tell which ones you've already done?

The ones you haven't done are monochromatic. When you've done/won then the Throwdown logo will be pink and yellow.

I haven't gone back to it yet. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered took a bit of the wind out of its sails for me but they're both different types of arcade racers so I've no doubt I will.

I'm doing similar and bouncing between the two.. seem to compliment each other quite well.

Alongside Pacer its been a great month for Racers.

In all honesty as someone in the target market, I've played it 3 times before just with a dirt logo on.

It looks great but in a crowded market where the likes of Watch Dogs and Cyberpunk are coming out it's not a £50 game. It'll absolutely be a £20-30 one.

I do think Codies hurt themselves with how quick their games tend to get there.

And with their super deluxe expensive editions.

I do like the looks of this and fancy a new racer on PS5, the comments about Driveclub are encouraging but I’ll probably wait and see if it drops a bit in the lead up to Xmas.

It's a shame it only just scraped into the top 40 on release and then dropped off completely last week. There aren't enough arcade racers about.

That’s surprising, I thought it would do better than that. I wonder if the cross-gen release hasn’t done it any favours, PS4 players thinking I’ll just buy it later when I get a PS5 because it’ll be dirt cheap by then.

I am in all honesty still somewhat lost with Dirt Rally 2.  They seemed to release the game in about 53 bits and I'm sure they actually didn't but it seems that way.

Don't share your views on this game I'm afraid, but that photo is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING :D

God damn, for a minute there I thought the world had finally decided to make up for the shitshow of a year by bringing me a remaster of NFS3; I'd forgotten the 2010 'reboot' was a thing :(

I absolutely love it.  As a personal HATER of anything to do with that fucking stupid poorly implemented Driveclub game,

Dirt 5 is everything that wanted to be.

Its probably not a perfect game for hardcore drivers ( see why i hated Driveclub ) ,  but as a casual  racer to have some fun with its the business.

I heard a mention of Onrush too.  Another pile of poop! that was.

So thank god Dirt 5 trounces both of those.

But? as i said before , go straight to the options and turn off the dude!

Cheers man.. can see why this isn't for everyone but I'm loving it.

Hope to group up with a few of you again on NFS once the new hardware next gen buzz dies down a bit.

Where are you getting your PS5 from? I only ask as with the Series X I bought from game they sent codes making this £30 and then with the £7 I earned in reward points I could pick this up for £23 and it’s very tempting....

The mentions of Driveclub out me off but at least explain all the broken stuff ;);)

Oh god I knew mentioning Driveclub and Onrush would cause issues. Their influence on Dirt5 is undeniable no matter how much you may hate those titles.

As for Driveclub being for hardcore racers... no comment.

I mentioned both in my review. OnRush was a wonderful idea marketed fucking appallingly. Sent out to die.

Also I'm pretty sure there isn't a racing game which straddles the arcade/sim line like Driveclub does? McSpeed or someone more versed in sim might contradict me, but that seemed to be my understanding.

Driveclub is far from being a sim. It definitely isn't as arcade as most Need for Speeds, but not as realistic as semi-sims (I hate the term 'simcade') such as Gran Turismo Sport either.

I've always regarded Driveclub to be a spiritual continuation of Project Gotham Racing, something even some devs mentioned at the time. That's definitely an arcade racing game with a few simulation elements, but still it's still mostly arcade. (Though less arcady than most Need for Speeds.)

The Autolog battles provide decent natural incentives to play and I'd be happy to host a direct online session :)

Oh aye it's a long way from sim but it's also a long way from the sideways nonsense of DiRT. I guess PGR really is as close as you'd get to it. Fuck Activision for closing Bizarre. And fuck MS for not making PGR 2 bc. If they can fork out $7bn for fucking Bethesda they can fork our whatever chump change they need for the licensing. And don't give me your red tape excuses, I don't want to hear them * kicks stone and slumps off muttering *

Onrush was so much better than this seriously hollow and empty experience - even something like shox on the ps2 plays 100 x better.  I must admit that the weather and lighting can look great in dirt 5 though. Hopefully they will use some of this in the future, in some thing like a new motorstorm esq game.
