I’m loving this! Only had THPS1 back in the day so purely focusing on that for now. Just got to downhill jam which fills me with terror.

Really hope they re release the THUG games next, I rinsed THUG2 in my teens and my muscle memory playing this is purely focused on those moves!

I never actually played the THUG games, so had no idea that Wallplant was even a thing ...

Holy crap, this is a game-changer! Damn near a game-breaker, actually, but it's far too fun not to make use of. Really starting to feel this now, just got my Gold in Marseille, thus clearing the Rookie challenge. I'll admit, that stuff annoyed me initially, but now I'm fully on .. ahem ... board!

you can also switch to the classic move sets in the “game mods” section of the menu I think!

£34 from CD keys...

This is how a remaster should be done and has actually dampened my interest in the 3D Mario pack (for now at least). Pretty much the same games I was terrible at then but properly tarted up.

Is it possible, on Xbox, to change the volume of apps independently? I can't be doing with the lame pop punk soundtrack here (and the only track I like has been censored!) so am using spotify but it is too loud relative to the game effects that I want to hear too.

The THUG games were actually pretty good. None of the purity of the Thps games in that there were quest givers and stupid comedy stunt things and the levels were more like 3d platformer levels, little densely packed open worlds to explore.

Probably aged a lot worse than these two with all the jackass influence on the tone and aesthetic they had mind you.

Any good deals on PC? Its £39.99 on Epic Store, but cant find it on CD Keys.

Check your EGS profile if you already have one from picking up free games - if you created it before or during the last sale, you probably have a coupon for £10 off any game.

I don't think anywhere has PC Keys, otherwise.

Somehow I’ve never played a Hawk game before and coming from Skate series I’m finding the adjustment hard . Don’t think I like it.

It's just your muscle memory though, it'll get easier, stick with it.  I've been playing a lot of Session and Skater XL so I feel your pain...but it does make sense after a bit.  However, I did play a loooooooot of THPS back in the day, so YMMV...

I am finding I come out of vert a lot by pushing forward, so need to learn to stop doing it.

It's such a different thing. These are basically arcade pseudo-platform games with fighting game inputs.

I am loving getting back to this. I'd forgotten how much of the original THPS I'd forgotten though. The original school level was like a whole world of WTF. To quote Gandalf - I have no memory of this place (even though I spent hours there back in the day). But then after a few runs vague memories kick in. I remember the roof rather than the ground level, tbh. But School II has replaced this in my memory so completely that the original doesn't even register for the most part. (Kinda scary actually.)

But regardless, this is a lovely thing. I've only opened a couple of extra levels so far. There are so many places I'm looking forward to revisiting...

Yeah I had totally forgotten you could go into the gym hall.

The artistic changes to the levels really bring home that feeling of being back in a familiar place that's exactly the same but different. If you ever walk past your own old school or something, it's like that.

THPS2 100%'d tonight with custom character. Need to go through few levels of 1 again to get last few stats for this character as had completed that with Tony Hawk (not realising how to change characters).

Hopefully won't be long until they bring the proper private lobby multiplayer to it.

Also really hope we get a THPS3 remaster soon. After replaying 2 now I think 3 might just edge it level wise but need to play it again to be sure. It did have Mad Capsule Markets on the OST so clearly wins in that aspect

How do the additional stats points work for each character?

They re-appear in the levels, so you need to collect them with everyone to max them all out. Only the goals themselves are one-time, which is nice because I don't have entire days to spend replaying it with everyone these days. Although, they have added challenges for everyone, so this might be all I play for the rest of this year.*

*Until next week with Mario, of course.
