8 Aberdeen players self isolating after they went out on the piss after losing to Rangers. Two of them so far have Covid. 

 

Absolutely idiotic. Aberdeen without those players for at least 3 games since there's really limited room for postponements and it isn't fair on other teams to do that.

 

This kind of stupid behaviour is what will get the season stopped.

Not even close, man! World Cup qualification resumes/starts (depending on your confederation) and I'm simply going to have to talk about Montserrat making an unexpected playoff push and the big Guinea Derby which thankfully has absolutely fuck all to do with horses.

Bob Paisley was Bill Shankly’s assistant. I think he did alright when he got the job. 
 

More recently Tito Villanova was Pep’s assistant at Barca.  Sadly he died of cancer a year after taking the job, but he did very well there.  Appointing from within can work, you don’t see many people get the opportunity but it’s not instant disaster.

What is it with Twitter Leeds fans and Ben White? I don't recall Villa fans being this militant about losing Tammy Abraham at the end of a loan spell when he helped them get promoted and he was at least as popular with them as Ben White is with Leeds fans if not moreso. Leeds must have other good defenders surely? I guess it might be just Twitter bullshit rather than Leeds fans in general, but it's exhausting already and the season hasn't started.

 

That said, with the signing of Lars Dendoncker albeit for the U23s, I don't really understand Brighton's obsession with centre backs particularly when it is well documented that we need a left wing back to complement Lamptey's pace and a Glenn Murray replacement although finding a reliable goal scorer for the PL is hard.

The usual distraction tactics I reckon.  We put in an offer not quite good enough for Brighton to agree, then make a lot of harrumphing noise before reluctantly concluding instead of paying 25 million for a player we will have to accept a 5 million second choice option instead.

 

Leeds should really be tapping into Bielsa’s experience and knowledge of South American football.  There must be some absolute gems over there that could be picked up for peanuts, developed & set the club up for years to come if they play the market right.

A warning from history! Work permits are a huge problem in getting South American players over here. We bought Alexis MacAllister ages ago and have only just managed to get him here. There is also the problem of acclimatising them to the culture and game over here. But yes they are cheap.

Total cluster fuck in Scotland now, shite Celtic player Boli Bolingoli went to Spain for a day last week, didn't tell anyone, didn't quarantine when he got back, played on Sunday. 

 

Luckily he's negative for covid but he's fucked his club and made the risk of football getting stopped again much higher. It's quite possible he will be sacked.
