Is there going to be an allotment you have to walk through to get to the away end (for posterity)?

The away end at Cambridge United used to back onto allotments. On more than one occasion fans from either side have been known to chuck produce over the wall and into the stadium. There was one cup match where the away fans were demanding a roof, and when they finally built a new stand that end the cabbage-throwing stopped.

FA allowing fans in now but only at 15% capacity. That means for my club 200 spectators.

Considering they've only once had below 200 spectators (199) it's still a kick in the teeth <_<

iFollow will be streaming all games next season until attendances can go beyond 50%

It's £10 a game and, I think, 70% goes to the home team.

Good news.

Hopefully, they'll launch a decent app as it's quite difficult for people with basic IT knowledge to get it on to your TV.

I'll be very happy if the new ground is finished by 25th October as planned.

So it's going to be a bit like Leyton Orient's ground where you have flats overlooking the pitch?  I guess, in London, that makes absolute sense for a lower league club but what if you aren't a lower league club in the long term? It's not going to be named in some sponsorship deal is it as some of those clubs that have done this (there's so many) just sound ridiculous. Colchester = Jobserve Stadium.

It is going to Plough Lane isn't it?

We've signed a lad released from Celtic who seems to have impressed our manager in the pre-season games we've had so far.  Calvin Miller, a left sided winger/wing back.  A season long loan from Newcastle Kelland Watts (who has been out on loan to League 1 and 2 before) and rumours are we're in for a "midfielder" - could be George Cooper from Peterborough who was with us last season and had the highest amount of assists in League 2.

Not long to go now - two weeks and a bit.

I much prefer the more urban feeling stadiums. In Reading, Elm Park had more atmosphere than the Madjeski, and for Oxford the Manor Ground was better than the Kassam is.

It's got 10k capacity but 3 of the stands are temporary so it can be upgraded to 20k in stages should the need arise. Sadly it's a lot more spartan than planned because of the £11m funding shortfall that popped up out of nowhere. Nothing has been announced about naming rights but considering our precarious financial situation it seems inevitable, sadly.

Our season depends entirely on when we sell Ivan Toney - he's off for sure, so we just need to get it done and spend the money wisely to replace him. The longer it rumbles on, the more of a 'panic buy' I think his eventual  replacement will be.

Well, we've signed the replacement (Johnson Clarke Harris from Bristol Rovers)- so I can only imagine that Toney is out of the door any moment now. £10m to Brentford seems to be the rumour...

@neoELITE - I hope you folks buy George Cooper - we want to ship him out and get Sam Szmodics back.

We're holding out for a free on Cooper @rgraves

I don't think we have much in the bank, like most clubs.

He was great last season.

We won't let him go on a free - our chairman has said we'd want a fee, and isn't one to back-down on things like that. If you want him, some undisclosed cash will have to change hands.

I think he needs to get away, it's not worked out for him with us at all.

He's completely unproven at League 1 level and I would be amazed if we paid for him. He was good at League 2 level but I wouldn't expect anyone to put a transfer bid in for him. We've trialled and signed people already who play in the position he played in last season.

We love him here, don't get me wrong but I can't see us paying anything.

Peterborough would be wise to loan him out again or get him off the payroll.

£10m won't last long if bums aren't on seats much this season.

Pre-season going well for Ipswich then. Predictable defeats to Spurs and West Ham, but worrying when the assistant manager says the players weren't putting the effort in leading to a 1-0 defeat at Cambridge United...

It must be difficult given they've not really played much.

That'll change very soon with Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.

We played on Saturday against Forest Green Rovers, won 2-1. The club have been testing out their new cameras and streaming kit for iFollow. Looks great by all accounts.  Their goal was a peach. Our two goals were pretty good too but their goal was a proper WOOF, top corner.

Be amazed @neoELITE - you just paid an "undisclosed fee" for him. Told ya.

I would've thought that is a deal based upon appearances and scheduled payments with a big fat sell on clause.

I'm happy with that though as he fits our system really well. He linked well with Danny Mayor and the strikers. He was probably fourth on my list of player of the year last season. He seems to like it here and that's important for a young player. The fans are pretty much in agreement that he's our type of player.

We're through to the second round of the League Cup. Beat QPR 3-2. A really entertaining game. Paid £10 to stream it on iFollow. Our winner was special.

I would have loved to see that game with a full house but alas. Covid.

Welcome back to football.

I see Exeter lost @El Pibe - against the Turnips too. Tut!

We're now allowed 400 people in the ground with 15% of those going to the away team. Should be good enough for most games.

Yesterday we beat Radcliffe FC (league above) 3-0 :)

I know we are playing a friendly at Haringay Borough where spectators are allowed since its below National League level.  The next big news will be the agreement of  maximum capacity (maybe 900-1250?) and the arrangements to control that - I guess season ticket holders (max 750) will have to "purchase" a ticketing advance by a certain deadline so that they will know how many extra they can let it at the turnstiles (unless they may every match all ticket of course).  They're not printing programmes next season but food and drink will be available and the bars will probably only be open pre and post match, given how much of a squeeze it is at half time.   I'm looking forward to returning since I reckon I'll be able to pick a spot away from others, but, of course, if all the larger groups of friends are split up, there will be less space than usual for us loners to occupy.  Still, its outside, and almost always windy, and there was probably a lot more virus circulating in mid March than presently, so still worth the limited risk (obviously mask is an option too).

Edit - the next big news is actually the fixture list coming out tomorrow.
