Ta @klargon. I'm only after a single card so that should be more than fine (wading through non-UK deals notwithstanding) :)

There’s not much wading- you tend to only get one set of alerts for the UK and one set for Europe in each month, from what I’ve seen

Nvidia thinks we all want cars to have avatars which will tell us if there’s a Michelin starred restaurant nearby.

I guess if you can afford their graphics cards…

Can I set it up to find Little Chefs? Or maybe a Bernie Inn?

Man, I miss both of those :(

I'm so glad I got a second chance at a 3070 FE at MSRP back last year. I originally had a stock alert open all day whilst working, got one in my basket but then questioned if I *really* needed it (I had a 2070 at the time) so didn't follow-through.

I then had second thoughts, made some plans to upgrade and offload my 2070 (below cost!) and waited. And waited. A couple of weeks later on a Thursday afternoon an alert came up and I was on it like a flash. Very pleased with it, its a great card for me at 1440p.

I do sometimes wonder if I should've held out for a 3080, but given I had been fine with a 970 up until January last year, I reckon this will be more than sufficient for at least a couple of years yet (and then I'd be looking at a 5 or 6-series anyway.)

Is it easy to get BotW set up via emulation these days? I obviously have it on Switch but I'm curious if it's solid and glitch free now and worth the faff.

Yes, Cemu WIiU is the way to go.  I am currently playing through again (first time was on Switch) in 3440x1440 60 FPS, anisotropic filtering 16x, enhanced reflections, FXAA, ultra shadows, all works flawlessly on a 3080.    I just loaded it up and took a screenshot...it just happened to be sunrise.

Just updated and fired up CEMU for the first time in a little while. Nice to see it now natively supports the PS4/PS5 pads with motion controls now. BOTW2 on the Switch is going to be pretty painful after playing the first game emulated (and yes, I do own the WiiU version).

I honestly think the best argument for the emulated version was just that mod that allowed players to be a different gendered Link. That one option alone is the only thing I think would have been nice to have in the game originally for a bit of inclusivity. Did that mod exist or am I making it up?

It’ll be fine.

Switch 2 will be along at the same time to ease the pain.

I’m a true believer.

Once I first secure another GPU the CPU and other bits will follow.

Did they announce anything interesting? I honestly can’t see them unveiling the 40XX series come September. 2023 perhaps.

There was nothing interesting at all really.

I mean, aside from the fact that nVidia seem to live in a parallel universe where we all have no issues buying a GPU and life's all wonderful.

Yep. You can also play as Zelda. Or anything you want really.

I forgot to mention it now supports unlocked framerates, I'm getting about 75-110 also on a 3080 at 3840x1600. It does vary a fair bit depending on where you are and what's going on. They seem to have fixed all the niggling speed and ragdoll issues.

The most important thing is to turn ASYNC on so you don't have constant framedrops as it builds the cache. It will simply do the unreal engine thing of taking a second to render the item in full detail when the scene changes or it loads in - much preferred.

Alas, the ones I was after are already gone. I was on my phone when the notifications came through, so able to hop right in, but in the three minutes it took me to get through the captcha and have the site stable enough to load, the 3070's 'add to basket' was no longer functioning, and the 3060ti and 3070ti weren't showing buttons at all.

I love my brother, but not enough to spring him a 3080+!

Depends how much of a hurry you’re in, but you’ll get another chance in a few weeks.

Edit: actually, they keep popping into stock. It will let me add a 3060ti to cart, for example

Drop. Gone in one second. One second. Came back a second later, got one in my basket, Scan dies, access denied, page comes back, nothing in my basket. Same story as the last six drops. Why are they even pretending human beings can buy these products? I don't get it. They might as well stick them straight on Ebay as auctions and let the bots bid them into the millions for all the use it does anyone.

Now watch Scan cancel the order... happened to me 3 times.

And twice with Ebuyer

And once with Very

And three times with Amazon

And once or twice with Alzashop or something like that.

Overclockers will take your money though. You might even get a card one day.

3060tis now being listed at £1300 buy it now on Ebay.

I do already have a Zotac 3080 to be fair (lol) but I have a mate desperate for one who works nights so he has zero chance. I've been looking for a 3080FE, 3080ti or even a 3090 so he can buy the Zotac. I shouldn't complain really, it's just utterly ridiculous.

I may as well start 'casually' pouncing on these alerts. I'll need to set up a new account with the German supplier as they won't let me buy any more 30 cards after my Nov 2020 score.

I really need a PC for the living room. After the Christmas break I'm back to playing CP2077 on my 27" at 1440p and it's obviously not quite as nice as 4K on the sofa with a controller.
