Second time around has been much more pleasant. 

 

It is an absolutely brilliant machine - it says something that despite only recently getting the PS5, I'm playing on the Xbox far more at the moment!

Use your 2tb hard drive for Xbox 360, and Xbox One games.

You can't play the S/X games from your external (like @Mr Do 71 says you can Xbox, X360 and XB1 games) but you can download them onto there and then whiz them across to the console as and when you want to play them. It's waaaaaay quicker than downloading them :).

That's what I do - my download speeds are okay, but not good enough for me to be constantly redownloading everything to juggle the space around.

 

Will be doing exactly the same thing with the PS5 when I get a chance too.

Also, in the Games & Apps thing, X|S games on external storage get an icon that looks something like ⇌ and it means you need to move it back to the internal drive to play. Very handy.

I'm sorry this is a PC question but it relates to Xbox and MS. So I'm enjoying FH5 so much that I thought I would purchase Forza Motorsport 7 - however MS are not allowing you to purchase it from the store (doesn't make sense to me why that is). However CDKeys have a key for it I can purchase for £15, the question is with this key would I be able to download the game do you think?

Yes

 

(The reason it's delisted from the MS store is that licenses for cars etc have expired).

Yeah crazy that it’s only just come now but very welcome. My ribs couldn’t take any more diving across the living room to hit the mute button after everyone has gone to bed.

Is it the elite controller? I have two elite (v1) controllers (one for me and one for my son) and I love them, couldn't be without them now because I'm so used to the paddles and ability to put on longer sticks. Also I've had no issue with either of mine, beyond the grips coming off on my first on (but it now has a 'sock' cover on it). If either did break I would definitely buy a v2 to replace it. However I know people have had issues beyond the grips coming off with them, and if you aren't interested in the paddles then you'd probably be better off selling it on and getting a stock series controller.

If your consoles haven't updated yet and you force it, when it boots up you get a screen explaining how to get to cloud gaming. Integrates well, games played via xcloud have a little OneDrive icon in the bottom right to show they're not installed.

I think sales have been the most disappointing aspect of Xbox for me. I don’t necessarily expect Steam type deals but the PS store has better offerings. 

Makes me wonder if GamePass is canniblising items on the store in general? So they can't cut the prices too deeply as they need to claw money back from reduced sales overall? Who knows.... 

 

Steam still has the best sales from my experience. Usually the only place I buy digital content these days anyway. I think if the world went digital only I wouldn't bother with a console at all and just play on PC exclusively. Then Steam and GamePass. 

 

Although... looking at my Steam library and GamePass glad the sales are not great I'd only buy more stuff that I wouldn't probably get around to playing! :D
