Lulz. I just experienced this on my Xbox One S too.  As far as I'm concerned MS have delivered on the no console left behind.  Now  just need NVidia GeForce Now to support the Edge browser (as rumoured)  and I'll be as happy as a pig in shit.

It already supports it ;)

Was working for me a week or 2 ago via edge on Series X.

Never buy from the UK store. For example elden ring is 25 pounds on the Turkish store. The price discrepancies are Outrageous.

I always thought I had to, in that I had no way of redeeming a game bought from Turkish store and playing it on my German account.

I guess I'm hugely mistaken?! 😮

Please tell me I am!

MS accounts let you buy from other stores if you use VPN or switch your consoles region.   No need for US/Uk/Jap accounts for each store like on Switch or PlayStation.

generally it’s a case of buy credit in the foreign stores currency from something like caskets.  Vpn on pc so that you are on a server for that country. Redeem said currency and buy your game.

I managed to buy this with the card I have on my Microsoft account and a bit of guesswork (just pressing the blue buttons) and got it for EVEN LESS than £5.58!

It’s decent enough as far as positional audio goes and a noticeable step up from the built in one. Not sure I’d be quite so happy if I’d paid full whack for it but at that price it’s great for knowing where stuff is happening in Halo. The audio quality itself is a noticeably better if you’re paying attention but not transformative or anything.

*£5.57 according to my pending card payments 😎

The Forza Horizon games and Gears 5 are the ones that really stood out for me. I believe they both natively support Atmos and I’ve been hugely impressed with the soundscape on both.

I wanted to check whether it was just a placebo so experimented with switching Atmos off and using the default Windows Sonic audio setting and could hear a massive difference, so I really think it’s worth it. I do use very expensive Shure earphones though so I think that really helps it to shine too.

Is this through the controller jack or are we only talking about an improvement through wireless?

Have Microsoft filled the hole of redeeming Argentina codes through a VPN? I'm trying to use Tunnelbear but when I try to redeem the code it just says the thing about it being from a different region than my account?

just switch region on the console and redeem the code no need to VPN

On a headphone Dolby Atmos tip - how do you make sure all the software is doing what it needs to and game settings aren't overlapping and messing stuff up? Am I supposed to set the audio in, say, FH5 to surround or headphones?

Please someone answer this :) I also want to know.

Just set the output to surround sound / home cinema and it'll do its thing.

Headphones mode tend to output in stereo (in which case you're not getting the benefit) or occasionally their own binaural processing (which conflicts).

Sorry for asking something that is probably asked a billion times, but can I just switch VPN to Turkey and use existing MS account & credit card, or do I have to buy some Turkish store credit from somewhere?

My launch controller’s RB button is done dusted thanks for the memories, that’s what I get for mapping Halo melee onto it, but seems weird as it seems like the least mechanical part on the thing.

The LB and RB buttons on Xbox controllers are notorious for failing or sticking. Something even the Elite controllers are not immune to, either, as I know from repeat experience.

Has anyone had any problems with the left stick on their X controller? Noticed over the last few weeks that it keeps losing contact on the edge of things, so if I'm holding upper left its like I'm slowly moving it back and slamming it in place. Very patchy and happened a few times.

Does this help? Found it while looking for places to buy credit.

Apart from my original Elite 1 pad, I've never had to replace an xbox controller.

me neither, but I’d imagine I can use the tip of the OG Xbox controller to rip a hole in the fabric of space and time and it’ll still not have a scratch

I saved about £40 by buying the £90 Destiny expansion from the Hong Kong store simply by switching regions on console. I had a HK card but dunno if you can get credit or location ambiguous cards to do that anyway. Maybe switching regions means you don’t have to play around with VPN?

I tried this but the redeem page at microsoft.com just takes you back to an English one. I think I'm just going to have to accept I'm a fiver down.

When you did the console region change did you restart the machine?

I bought a US $10 credit last week and couldn’t redeem it any normal way with VPN but worked on the console - the whole store was in US dollars etc.
