The most common 'glitch' seems to be returning to an already running game on one that you've played more recently on the other console.

I think this is correct - if you're going to be switching between two Xboxes (Xboxen?) then you probably need to get in the habit of manually quitting the game when you're done. It doesn't get confused often, but when it does it's very hard to recover the situation.

That said, save syncing works perfectly for me 99.9% of the time across an Xbox One, a Series X, a PC and Xcloud, and it is generally so seamless it feels like magic, so Microsoft has done a very good job here.

I've only encountered that issue going back and forth XSX and XB1 once, although I don't know what sort of time in between we're talking about generally. IIRC, Hades was in quick resume on the XSX, and I had a newer save on the XB1 which had cloud synced. For whatever reason, Hades quick resuming didn't immediately pull down the newer game. Again, really unsure of the timing. AC Odyssey, on the other hand, always checks to see if there is a newer save online and quits/reloads for you if it detects it. Would be nice if it just did the "syncing data" progress bar that other games do.

Anyway, yeah, I would probably quit anything you play back and forth different machines. This quick resume needs more polish, as surely multi-console households are quite normal.

Had one of those "well, duh" moments yesterday. I've been playing Sniper Elite 4 quite a bit recently. There's loading times, nothing too drastic, but I was looking at loading screens a bit, especially on boot up.

Copied it across to the internal drive and it is now "loading? What loading?".

Great game, as well. Something I never would have tried without Game Pass and Rewards.

If anyone has perhaps given thought to sprucing up their standard controller, then I can personally vouch for the quality (fitment is fine, paint / print is pretty thick) of the eXtremeRate faceplates sold on Amazon.

I grabbed one the other day for my (well out of warranty so why not pull it apart eh!) series 2 Elite and fitted it last night, before then today modding both the case and the internals slightly to accept a Series S/X D-pad (my fave Xbox D-pad so far) as I wasn't too keen on the feel (though the function was fine) of the metal one.

Pretty darn happy with how it's turned out:

Do you mind me asking how you got the original faceplate off?

The left bumper is knackered on my Elite series 2 but while it looks like a straightforward fix, I simply cannot get the bastard apart. It's glued down solid right the way around.

Sorry mate, I didn't see a notification about your quote and didn't see the quote itself till late last night.

I've got a few minutes free this lunchtime so I'll grab the original faceplate and pad to show you where the tabs / sticky bits are on it. I'll also show you the trusty tool I used (that you'll quite possibly have one of) which should make it easy enough to do :)

Brilliant - thank you for that! You didn't need to go to so much trouble but it's very much appreciated. :)

You're welcome :).

It didn't take me that long to do, and if it means yours gets a second lease of life and that perhaps a few people decide they're now confident enough to bling theirs up with a funky faceplate, then it'll have been more than worth it.

Need to buy a Series X for brother's birthday.  amazon and Argos have nothing.  Microsoft store claims I have exceeded my 1 console limit which I haven't since I have never bought anything from there.

Anywhere else I can check?

Apparently the MS store right now.

Edit: Doh! I see you say you've tried there. Maybe mail/phone them?

Started playing Route 96 this morning. Interestingly it says it doesn't support achievements, which it seems it did when it was on Steam. I would have thought part of the T&C's of releasing a game on Xbox was that it supported them?

The progress tab on the club says it has 12 achievements.

How odd. I went into the achievements tab while playing it and it just had that notice saying they weren't supported!

Have you tried using a different Microsoft account? I don't know if the limit is attached to account or address.

Haven't tried yet. But I did get through to a MS support person and they said it was a known issue and would reset my count on my account.  Just waiting for that confirmation to come through.
