I can't decide whether to buy this (Switch version). It sounds like it would scratch an itch and my daughter would enjoy getting involved. I probably don't have loads of time to devote to it.

It's a fairly easy game to pick up and play for 20 minute sessions. Pick a puzzle or a fight and do it type thing. They're all signposted and there's no obligation to go through them in any order. The only bits that take ages are the god vaults and there are not that many of those and even those offer save points throughout.

My kid also liked it who's 8. The cartoons are quite Pixar like.

A new update is coming out this afternoon for the game:

Highlights

  • Loadouts are now available in the Inventory Menu. You can quickly create and swap between 3 loadouts.
  • Nightmare Difficulty is now available WITHOUT having to complete the game a first time.
  • Created a fail-safe to ensure that items from completed Vaults or Lair can be found in the player’s inventory.
  • Stability improvements.

Can read full details on the Ubisoft blog post

Started playing this and trying to avoid walkthroughs. I’m at an annoying trial: When In Olympos. Is this mandatory? It appears I need to use new temporary powers to complete yet I’ve not even been introduced to them.

Temporary powers? Which ones?

That's not mandatory at all, it's effectively a demo of the dlc (which is meant to be post-game content).

It's pretty stupid that they put it on the starting island and don't demarcate it too well.

I can fly straight upwards for one. I don’t have that yet.

Sorry I missed that you were in the dlc one. Like deerokus says, it's a taster for the downloadable content, none of the other trials do that shit. If you haven't got a God power needed to finish the vault/trial it tells you.

I really enjoyed the demo for this. Iv got AC Odyssey to play next then il pick this up

Oof, I'd advise a looooong break between them. In fact, starting with Immortals might be better as it's so much smaller.

They're both open-world Ubisoft games set in Ancient Greek settings with fun but repetitive activities and fairly similar combat mechanics. If you really enjoy Immortals then you'll definitely enjoy moving onto Odyssey, but I'd be amazed if you 'finish' Odyssey and then want to smart Immortals.

So the latest on the DLC not working is Sony are saying that UK copies of the game that people have bought from UK web sites e.g. Argos, Amazon, Game are actually Russian copies (serial number) and are refusing refunds.

Ubisoft have been silent so far.

So either it is a bug or Ubisoft shipped the wrong version to UK suppliers.

Better wait for that sweet (60) FPS Boost compatibility that AC Origins and Odyssey are very likely getting (since Watch Dogs 2 is a launch game for it).

And meanwhile play this game in 60fps.

You can parry almost all her attacks - reflect them back at her and she'll go down very quickly indeed

It's more the resource drain element of having to fight her four times. A bit irritating. Also I almost never use the parry so will have to train myself, haha.

I played almost the entire game relying on the dodge rather than parry so found her incredibly frustrating the first time I fought her (in the overworld rather than the god vault) as it’s so hard to get near her  and then half way through the fight I realised all the projectiles she fires are reflectable...spam it when she does the blue ones and she’ll dizzy then wack her with the hammer. She’ll be dead in no time.

The timing window on parry is massive so it really is much easier than it appears.
