My view is JKs a bitch and yeah if you feel passionate about it don't buy this game. On the other hand with the experience of being a life long Vegetarian - you can't enforce your beliefs on others like what's been happening on here. It scientifically doesn't work, ultimately it's a drop in the ocean what you can achieve and sometimes it makes you look like the dick if the other person doesn't agree.

 

Plus there's the argument that there's a whole bunch of people that probably don't share JKs feelings; who's livelihoods actively rely on the success of this game. But it's going to succeed anyway so that's a bit moot.

 

By all means make people aware, petition and whatever - but don't enforce.

Cunt is the most misogynistic thing anyone can call women, used for generations to show how little they matter so it really makes my skin crawl.

I am truly amazed that people have made their views on Jk Rowling and their views on boycotting the game / not purchasing multiple times yet still are in the thread trolling the shit out of a game that is not yet released, has no direct input on story from JKR and has an inclusive character creation scheme made by the good folk at Avalanche who made Disney infinity ffs. Very strange times.

think of it as a protest - I am pretty sure that is how at least one of the people you refer to has described it, in fact, as well as you using the analogy - and then you will understand why it keeps coming up. I’m sure the innocent children who would be reading the thread otherwise are very disappointed.

As the game discussion at the moment seems to consist of such scintillating subjects as "how big is the day 1 patch" I can see why the chat might turn towards a more wideranging topic regarding the transphobic elements. Once the game is out, if it is any good, then the "game chat" is likely to become dominant but I imagine those boycotting the game may well occasionally pipe up especially if certain triggers are mentioned.

 

Saying the thread is an embarrassment is uncalled for when the people who are discussing this are directly affected by transphobia. It seems a little meanspirited at best.
