Did the performance of this on Switch improve from its initial release?

I like the look of it, but it's the sort of game I'd only ever play on Switch, so it's basically that or leave it if it still doesn't play very well.

Do you have Rush Rally Origins on Switch, it’s very good and great value at £5.99?

Anyone playing on PS5, how are the haptics, can you feel the different surfaces?

Err… no, not that I’ve noticed. There’s a cool little effect on the accelerator trigger that kind of lets you hold it at the point of traction loss in a drift (so not realistic at all!)  but no, the surfaces all “feel” the same.

Ah that’s a shame, I’m playing it with my GP trial and thought the surfaces didn’t feel that different and hoped it might be a bit better with the DualSense.

I REALLY want to love this but I’m not feeling it. I’ve spent more time fiddling with options and camera settings than driving and enjoying the game.

I’ve just not got a connection yet between my fingers, my eyes and what’s happening on screen.

Getting in the group 3 or whatever it was sierra definitely not a cosworth felt like cheating, absolutely wiped the floor with it. Had a 2 minute lead going into the final stage at germany.

I REALLY love this game now.

I noticed the thread on Lonely Mountains Downhill had been bumped to page 1 and I was thinking how the art style and “vibe” was similar. Then I remembered how in that game you have to be cautious and smooth and patient until eventually you get into the flow. Went back to this game with that in my head and whaddya know after a couple more hours on it I’m hooked.

Wait, what?!

Why did this never occur to me?!

I struggled with this since it launched on PC, but yesterday I fired it up for the first time in ages and finally “got” it. Although I unlocked an achievement for finishing a stage without damaging my car… which I rolled. Hmmm…

Do you have any recommended settings? I've fiddled a bit but i dunno if it's helped or i've made it worse! I seem to get into tank slappers in this constantly.

Cracking video that, and it's bang on. Many cars in the game that didn't really exist or didn't get in the limelight that those cars that won events. Got to group B last night and the rs200 is amazing.

Not sure what default was after much fiddling, but l ended leaving mine on in the gameplay settings stability assist 30, counter steer 160, abs 50.
advanced settings I left alone, and then for camera I’m on view 4. Fov 40, rotation 80 and shake 50.
My settings might be default or absolutely terrible ( I’ve no idea)  but  I think I was too busy fiddling and there were too many options so I kind of got lost. Then I went back to it and just drove less aggressively and after a couple of hours found I’d kind of got to grips with it.

It is to the extent it made me finally buy the game on PS5, I think it just made the cogs in my brain align and think I get the passion that has gone into making this game now.

Really enjoying it so far, I’ve only done the initial free roam (found everything bar the vehicle, I think, as it looks greyed out) and the first couple of group 2 rallies in the Escort. The DualSense makes all the difference too, compared with the 360 controller I’ve used on PC with my GP trial.

Anyone playing on PS4/5, send me your PSN ID for some time-trialling.

This is great. The way it unfolds in career mode is good. Only weird thing is how it says you’ll lose progress if you go back to a rally to try and improve your result.
Also I don’t think the ghosts work properly. I tried to set it on my PB and the ghost shot off into the distance so I’m assuming it just gave me the World best. Datsun 240z is my favourite car so far. Why do they always make the Lancia Stratos handle like a bastard in every rally game?

I’m a bit disappointed with the slowdown on PS5, Norwegian tracks so far when there are a few trees about it seems. I guess they’re not supporting it too well as I’d have hoped for a patch.

Oh right, I’ve not had any that I’ve noticed.

It’s only been briefly on small sections but enough that it’s thrown me off a bit. I take it there’s no quality vs performance mode?

Did the weekly, 3 seconds ahead going into the final stage......

Have several brain farts in the dark, and finish up 2nd against my nemesis, captain pugwash  @Junker

Ha ha. I’m on group B in career mode, have you tried the RX7? Utterly bonkers trying to keep that in a straight line
