for...reasons....i decided to actually start a game as Bournemouth, and, some surgery was needed, as despite selling a bunch of players you dont get much of a budget!

 

Principally, Begovic on 70k a week!?! and one year left!  he had to go, sold him for £1mil, and got this fella i've not heard of for £2.8mil :-

Also sold off King and smith, who had a year left each, for a nice £23 mil between em!

 

Brought in wilshere on a free for £30k a week, AND an injury release clause in there! and some lad called Mads Roerslev at RB for £1.3 potentially rising to £2.3

 

lets see how that goes!

 

edit: ive just noticed something, which i hope is a bug, but the tactics screen doesnt not have the "circle of suitablility" next to the player name

Little bit gutted that this years game doesn't run on my 2012 iMac because I'm now on an unsupported version of mac OS :(

 

FM20 runs perfectly on my iMac and I can't imagine they've added anything which actually warrants Sierra being unsupported.  Especially annoying as FM21 still supports Windows 7 which isn't exactly a current OS.

Got Swansea promoted in my first season. Signed Jack Wilshere and Guedetti on a free. Connolly from Brighton on loan, he scored 27 in 37. Rodon signed on loan in Jan to shore up an already good defence.

 

The gegenpress seems a bit op, I switched to it after about 6 games and started demolishing teams. You need a good squad to rotate players though, can't do three games in 7 days at such high intensity.

 

The first thing i did after securing promotion was to extend the contract of Ayew, he signed at 20k less a week too!

 

Got an £8m bid in for Phil Jones to bring some top flight experience to the defence.

 

I havent played a lot of the series in the last few years but this seems like a really solid entry. Some great  adjustments.  The only rubbish bit is the pass map, which has so much information on it that it fails to serve any purpose.

Quite possibly, I have noticed a couple of other applications which I can't update now which is probably fair enough given the age of my computer. That said I definitely don't want to spend money replacing it because FM is the only game I play on it and otherwise all I use it for is web stuff which is all fine still.

 

I might end up installing a Windows partition to play this if I can be bothered.

How long does the Beta last guys? A season? Is it the same as other years where you can’t start a full game, select leagues etc until the full game comes out?

 

looking forward to playing as Coventry this year, first season in the Championship, bugger all money but some decent players and with some Prem loans won’t look too shabby, I’ll have them winning the Champions League by season 3.......Maybe.

I’m absolutely loving this version. The match engine is so much better, smoother and some of the passing and play!

 

Also love the new interactions and press conferences - actually have to pay attention to what I’m doing now!

 

Midway through my BETA save with Sheffield United. Sitting mid table in Jan, but on a shocking run. Might have to rethink my tactics...

Trying to start a New Game in the Premiership with Spurs and having an almost unbelievable issue simply trying to configure the game. The cursor seems to be registing about half an inch lower than where it points on screen, which is annoying but I can live with it until something fixes it, however... I am also coming across some screens where I simply progress through the set-up because the 'Confirm' button is hidden below the bottom of the screen :blink: is this a known issue? I appreciate it may be something to do with resolution, etc. but right now I dont appear to have a way to fix it and so cant get past the 'other leagues' selection screen.

 

Help!!

Not seen that, are you running full screen or windowed?

Pretty sure this is something to do with your resolution and/or the interface scaling options.

 

If you check on the SI forums you'll find others with this exact issue.

This really does run incredible doesn't it? 

 

Its the first year where I have seen an actual improvement in the game when using the same laptop for playing. Usually this run slower and starting a game its clear its going to be more difficult to run fast with lots of leagues and large database. But even on the high league and player database size I am getting 5 stars. Then in game loading and transition is as good as its ever been. If that was the ONLY improvement this year I would be more than happy.

 

My laptop that runs FM is also for work (dangerous I know) and has the same graphics cards that get used in some USB photo frames so I'm not bothered about the match engine. Everything else though, could not be happier with it.

 

Starting a games with Spurs as not long finished the All or Nothing documentary, which has got me right in the mood for it! :)
