My other half said it's better to choose a female avatar because if you're going to be looking at an arse for tens of hours it may as well be a nice one. I can't disagree.

This has been my way of thinking for some time too lol.

Last time I had such a "choice" in a game was Resi 6 where I played as Helena instead of Leon and Sherry instead of Jake for that exact reason.

What happened with GTAV? That had Franklin as a main character and that didn’t seem to harm its success.

GamerGate and the ensuing never ending chudsplosion that followed didn’t happen until over a year after GTA5 came out.

Fuck that game is old.

Personally I've gravitated to female avatars since World of Warcraft. You run the risk of boob armour but, anecdotally, they're better voice acted and just nicer to look at. There's probably something Freudian going on too.

I've chosen female characters for a long time now, for the main reason that they end up having better voice acting, apart from JRPGs

I can't stand all that "sitrep" macho bullshit in games

Frankly, hearing the female VA in Ghost Recon Wildlands shout “FUCKING HELL” anytime you come under fire was my favorite part of the whole game

As is the amount of (presumably young people) wondering what the hell he did that's an actual criminal offence. Genuine surprise at the notion of the FBI investigating a game leak, because surely it's just a game leak those happen all the time.

Yeah seen a few baffling comments, like "but why? He leaked footage that was given overwhelmingly positive comments."

Ah that's OK then, it got a good social media reaction.

I don't follow game devs so this was all really interesting.

I mean, as someone who was primarily interested in the leak because of the insight it gave into AAA development, this is an amazing result.

Can someone explain how someone who is smart and savvy enough to hack a major organisation, has got caught doing so?

I would have thought he would have made himself undetectable, but guessing the FBI located his IP address or what?

Because of clout. It's the equivalent of someone stealing a phone then taking a selfie with it.

Yeah, bragging on Reddit is what I read. Gotta get those updoots.

The idea that he’d have the knowledge to perform a security breach of this level but not good enough opsec to avoid this Reddit account getting traced is insane.

I do always wonder why people don’t just dump this stuff on 4chan.
