I've been playing Mass Effect for the very first time myself, funnily enough.

 

Here's exclusive footage of me going off the main story to do the side quests:

I'm playing it at the moment, just doing the main story and a bit of the side stuff when it toes into it. And it's just great! The pacing is superb, the storytelling very focused with just enough action. And it's been ages since I played it when it first came out so I forgot most of it, it's like a new game!

And finished! That was a real blast, thoroughly enjoyed it. I basically did only the main missions, took 22 hours and ended at level 23. Which was plenty powerful, I didn't need the extra xp from the side missions at all. Same for money, I never actually bought anything other the medi gel and grenade upgrades.

 

Taking a break to play some Yakuza, then onto ME2.

Right after posting I said "fuck it" and booted up ME2 . Turns out the legendary edition does not automatically install all 3 games though, so it's downloading now .

I spent yesterday evening playing ME2, it's pretty good isn't it? The difference with ME1 in terms of production values is huge! Can't believe there's only 3 years between them. I love the setup too, going around the galaxy to assemble your team is very compelling. Guess Yakuza can wait...

Yeah I don't think that'd be very enjoyable for me. I'm still getting used to things, I chose vanguard because I played through all 3 games as infiltrator back in the day and I wanted something else. Not really sure how to make the most of it tbh, I have already seen the game over screen a fair few times. I think I need to go and get Jack, I need a proper biotic as backup.
