My sympathy to those who have had trouble today, or experiencing delays.

 

I've felt like I had genuine moments of insanity between getting really excited and simultaneously doubtful and worried today... so I am sure it really sucks. But you'll get it all sorted soon I am sure. 

 

Just didn't want you all to think that those who got a delivery just left the thread and weren't thinking about you! 

 

Realise this is a bit of a thoughts and prayers post.

After a long day of following the exciting adventures of my DHL delivery driver, Argos finally came through at 7! 

 

They did send me the wrong controller though - I ordered the white one (so that I'd have one of each colour) but they sent me another black one. Not the end of the world, I wouldn't have bothered returning it, but they sent a text message apologising for sending me a play and charge kit instead of a white controller, and telling me to keep the kit and they'll send a replacement controller. A bit weird that they know they sent the wrong item, but got the wrong item wrong. Still I'm not complaining - nice release day bonus!

Mine's just changed to "Delayed". No date at all. After being GUARANTEED delivery by 10pm by their customer services earlier today. So, as soon as my kids are in bed it'll be back on the phone to customer services and kicking up a much bigger stink. Delayed by a day or two, not too big a deal. Just the equivalent of an Alan Partridge shrug is a different matter.

Generally pleased with the amazon service, although it was gone 11am before I got a delivery confirmed for today let alone a time. Arrived on the early side of its slot. Really sorry for people here who've had issues, hopefully we will hear what went wrong over the next few days. 

 

The console was for my son, no problem setting it up, updating, reconfiguring as a home console etc. So he's back on FIFA, hasn't even opened the new controller. Has to be said a launch without at least one blockbuster feels very anticlimactic. 

 

I get to do it all over again next week with my PS5. :mellow: Hopefully.

Still no movement on my delivery with Hermes. Checking the email I received on Sunday it included this:

 

We have good news! One of your pre-ordered items is now eligible for release date delivery and has been upgraded at no additional charge.

 

If this is their upgraded service I’d hate to think what standard is.

Add me to the Thursday club. Complained on Amazon chat as they had told me at 3pm that it would be delivered today. Ended up asking to speak to a manager as I wasn’t getting anywhere with the first person. £20 credit as compensation. Can’t see where it has been applied on my account though!! :rolleyes:

I'm also on the chat to Amazon and having to speak to a manager, as the CS rep I got connected to first was clearly just trying to stonewall me.

 

"I'll forward your request to the fulfilment department" was the first thing, and when I asked what that meant, they said they'd get the department to send it soon. I said 'soon' wasn't a date, and since I'd been assured it'd arrive today when I spoke to them earlier, and my order page also said that until after 8pm, 'soon' wasn't good enough. Then they said the 'product' (they've never referred to it as anything else, even though I've referenced Xbox and 'console' repeatedly) might not have been sent to the local fulfillment center so I wouldn't get it today. I said that was no excuse because they've known for over two months when they'd be sending it to me and where I live, so they've had plenty of time to arrange for it to be sent to the local fulfillment center, and then they said they couldn't help me any further.

 

So now I'm waiting for the manager to start talking to me.

yeah, I had to wait ages on the manager connecting. Stick with it to at least get £20 back.
