Add me to the Thursday club. Complained on Amazon chat as they had told me at 3pm that it would be delivered today. Ended up asking to speak to a manager as I wasn’t getting anywhere with the first person. £20 credit as compensation. Can’t see where it has been applied on my account though!!

It'll most likely not show on your account but rather as a discount when you next go to buy something that's sold by Amazon.

To double check you can pop something in your basket (make sure it's sold by Amazon) and then go to the checkout. If they've applied it to your account then it should show as a discount on whatever you're at the payment stage of. Providing it shows then delete whatever "tester" product it was you'd chosen and you can then use the discount next time you go to buy something :).

That worked perfectly. Cheers @womble9

I was also fobbed off with the excuse that there was a last minute rush of orders on the product which caused a delay, which is Trump levels of bullshit since you haven't been able to order the bloody thing for 6 weeks.

I got given the email below, wonder if it matches what others have been told.  Happy to share my ,admittedly very entitled email, if anyone wants it.  Let's give 'em hell.

customer-attachment-requests@amazon.co.uk

Just a heads up. I emailed them on the 13th October about another screw-up over a coffee machine and I’ve still to get a reply from them.

When I mentioned this yesterday to them (whilst moaning about the Series X non-delivery) they said it can take up to a month to get a response.

Place your bets!

For context I bought five different 3080s in a week and none of them turned up.

Mine's in Northampton, about an hour away from me.

Now I know it's definitely on its way I won't need to constantly refresh the order page to check it's been dispatched. Instead I'll be refreshing to see how far away it is. And that's a totally different and very acceptable thing for a 40 year old man to do.

It’s on a van!

Should be here by 10:30, so like any self respecting gamer who booked a week off, I am stood outside my flat so there is zero chance that the driver will decide not to bother like with yesterday’s play and charge kit.

I have been joined by a squirrel from the local park. He isn’t sure what is going on, and squeaked at me and ran off when I started to talk about how important velocity architecture is to the next-gen experience.

I’m also reliving the day one experience of two decades ago, as it is cold.

Mine is still in France and has been since just after 4am yesterday. I’ve had a few delivery issues over the years but having something sent to France rather than Northern Ireland is the strangest one yet.

No point in messing about, will get on to Currys now for a refund.

Edit: It has went from England to France to Northern Ireland. I’m not a logistics expert but I’d imagine that’s probably not the most cost effective route.

Mine came about 4pm. It's a weirdly exhilarating and deflating launch at the same time. It's a really, really nice bit of kit and feels sturdy as all hell. The SSD already feels like a game changer, I can't get over just how quiet it is. It's just missing that true thrill of the 'new' that you get with some shiny new major must have launch title. Still think it'll probably be my main console just on the strength of just how bloody much is on Game Pass.

This has always been the case in PC-land so it's interesting to see how it lands for console-only people. You get the new toys, you put it all together, you fire up whatever you've been playing, and it loads faster. Runs better. Looks nicer. But it's the same game. If you're lucky you can time it with a significant release but otherwise it's a case of going through your back catalogue and rediscovering stuff. I'm generally really against the generational nature of consoles and prefer the PC approach of the games and consoles being on separate cycles. I'm only buying it as a gamepass box for the living room so I can put the PC back upstairs and play some mouse and keyboard games again.
