If it worked like pretty much every other product I'd just order both from the first retailer to do it but literally none of them are interested.

 

Yes there would be scalpers in that list but they would have to decide exactly how many and if they wanted more later, they would go behind real people. Also their market would dimmish rapidly because people would be guaranteed one asap.

You'd be surprised. The PS5 classifieds on AVForums are busy and people are still willing to buy these at inflated prices.

It's madness, I can understand the Christmas hype and nagging kids factor back in December but now? People are weird.

Indeed exactly this. Psychology isn't it.... Guessing why Sony and the retailers are doing little to kerb it. Guess the fact that you can't easily pick them up in stores at the moment is compounding the problem.

 

Sony for example could easily reserve some for gamers that have been members of PSN+ for a year and give the option of ordering directly from Sony themselves through the store.

Pretty sure they did exactly this but in the US only.

 

The consoles are still selling for between 750-800 on eBay so the scalpers market is going absolutely nowhere for a while.

They're out of stock. I got in the queue with 25,000 ahead of me. Got to the front and was met with a white screen. Got back in the queue, this time with 10,000 ahead of me and the same thing happened. The queue is now 'Paused' and the main site is down for maintenance.

If you’re using Stock Informer, install the Telegram app, then click the link on their website to join the channel. 
 

For what it’s worth, being in the channel and getting the alerts hasn’t helped me so far. 
 

I really thought this one might have been the one, too.

Istm that if you're not on the right site within the first ten seconds you will struggle.

 

I'm on a discord channel which has been pretty accurate and seems fairly well run. I got a PS5 bundle for 490ish to the checkout at game the other day and my CC was fraud checked at payment. I spent 45 minutes waiting on the phone, but the stock was gone so I gave up. Didn't get to the front of the Currys queue before they ran out.

 

I only started looking because the my son has been hogging the PS4 and the controller has started playing up. I begrudge £50 for a controller I'm probably going to trade in in a few months, and the second hand prices are nuts. I'm not even that excited about the ps5 itself.

 

The chase though, the chase is so good.

Stock Informer blew up again, stock back in at Currys. I was still at the head of the queue, managed to add one to the basket, but the basket glitched. I kept trying to refresh, kept showing nothing in the basket, then it booted me to the back of the queue again. Fuck this.
