I've got nearly a hundred quid in Nectar points, I'll slap argos hard in the chops when they do a double up event and you know, you can walk in and buy one. My PS5 cost £0.

 

Might have to hold out for a couple of years mind.

Interesting take and makes sense. If the scalpers are selling them sealed then they just become Sony's problem if the break further down the line. Guessing the contract is between the supplier and the original customer at the point of sale? Although most suppliers will just try and send you to Sony anyway and try and distance themselves from any sense of responsibility or obligation. 

 

Saying all that its not a bad thing at times that the supplier doesn't get involved. Had a issue with a monitor I bought from e-buyer last year and their after sales support was so bad I just contacted the manufacturer directly. Monitor was booked in next day a new one arrived and the old one collected. Zero hassle and great service. (it was BENQ BTW).

 

Still find it hard to believe that Sony themselves cannot have a pre-order list for these. Register interest, pay deposit and get it shipped out when in stock. I know it will take time to implement but this problem isn't going to go away anytime soon. I expect this will continue right though summer and into winter as the Xmas comes around again.

I actually could have got one today if I hadn’t been working. I refreshed Game twice in a row. Second time, it was there. So I was on the page at the very second it arrived. Only, I was teaching online at the same time so had to get back to my students. I’m shit at multitasking. Got in the queue eventually but as it was minutes later I doubt I’ll get one.

Hard to tell, it's the usual queue that after about an hour tells you to go away. What's weird is that you can still join another line, and they still have items listed on the page to pre-order. By now it's usually all gone....
