Interesting take and makes sense. If the scalpers are selling them sealed then they just become Sony's problem if the break further down the line. Guessing the contract is between the supplier and the original customer at the point of sale? Although most suppliers will just try and send you to Sony anyway and try and distance themselves from any sense of responsibility or obligation.

That's an interesting thought. If you bought one from a scalper, for say £700 or £800... didn't get the receipt from the original shop... and it broke... who are you going to return it to?  The scalper is long gone, and surely Sony will want to see them receipts?

I appreciate every PS5 has been on sale for less than a year, so every PS5 in existence is liable for manufacturer's warranty, but it's a problem someone is going to face eventually.

i got in currys instantly. There are no actual PS5s on the website. Nothing

Oh great... Now we have to piss about with people having a 'joke' saying they are available on whatever website.

Currys have none. I dont think they had any to begin with and seems like an error as i got in instantly. Maybe later they will add some?

"Manoj: Yes, currently we do no have any stock."

Yeah, it's a bit conspiracy but the last hour tells you that putting stock out when nice well behaved bots who buy bundles, don't return goods and won't crash the website has got to be really tempting for them.

Especially as Argos will be selling a fuck load of things that aren't PS5s right now and have better profit margins.

This morning I was on game moments before the bots started pinging. Then Game crapped the bed, 500 errors, intermittent queues, kept logging me out, couldn't view basket, too many items in basket etc.

As a hail Mary I cleared my browser cache, refreshed the page. It was in the basket and processed!!!

Now to wait for the order to be cancelled for some reason

I’m somehow still in the Game queue with more than an hour to go.

It hasn’t changed since 9.46 or whenever.

Mine started counting down again about 20 minutes ago, seems like the line is moving, people are reporting actually being able to buy one this time!

Managed to get one, after a bit of confusion at checkout!

First of all, it wouldn't let me add the base console to basket. I refreshed and went back to the various bundles, and opted for Miles Morales +2 controllers, which it allowed. Then it got stuck halfway through checkout, on the delivery options page. The order was split in two shipments. one being the second extra controller. It wouldn't let me select options for both as choosing a delivery option for one would cancel the other, leaving the "continue to payment" button greyed out! Had to refresh again, return to basket and remove the extra controller before it all went through! Done now though, huge sigh of relief!
