Everything I've tried just sends me back to the dashboard realm. 🤷‍♀️

edit - ISOs and XBLA packages need to be extracted and run from the .xex executable.

So. If I grab a file from archive.org it's in rar format. When I extractr that I just get a folder streuctrure with some files. There is no .xex extension file.   What am I doing wrong?

For XBLA packages:

File > Open > Package. Browse through the folders until you get to the package file, select and extract all.

For ISOs

They have Bullet Witch as freezing after the opening cutscene but I played it for about an hour this morning. It occasionally stutters and I assume that's a shader thing, but otherwise perfectly playable for me.

I’ve managed to get the tinyurl links to work.

XBSX2 just crashes back out without doing anything

Xenia goes to a file manager screen then crashes out too

Will have to have a ganders with Dolphin and the updates Flycast - annoyingly I had a tiny 128gb usb drive I put roms on for last year when I tried this and it was so bloody slim and tiny I lost it :)

XBSX2 requires a PS2 BIOS file.

Xenia requires a patch you can download from the Discord to add a missing config file.

Is your drive set to full access too.

Mmm dunno what that means :)

i popped several roms on a memory stick - got Virtua Tennis to work, Outrun C2C didn’t run too well on the PSP emulator and I can’t seem to get Dolphin to see the Wii and GC game I’ve got in the folder?

As ever I spend more time fancying around trying to get emulators to work than actually playing anything :)

Is that patch something I can download from the Xbox browser?

I had this.

Put the mem stick in a widows pc. Right click, properties, security. Gotta make a new entry that gives full access to be read and written to. Then it will work. YouTube explains it better.

Download the PS2 bios files from any website that comes up googling PS2 bios.  Unpack any zip files to leave you with a set of individual files. Stick those on your USB where the games are (anywhere is fine but why not stick all your PS2 stuff in one place). The files are called SCPH-1000.bin and most of the time the zip contains each different revision of the bios.  I use SCPH-3000 (I think, I'm posting this whilst sat on the toilet at Charnock Richard Services) because the first bios (1000) has a few compatibility issues.

Then in the settings, find the option to set the bios directory location and change it to show your USB.  Then play Burnout 2 for hours.

one thing im loving about xenia on the xbox is being able to play some of the unreleased 360 games - in case the star wars battlefront 3 leaked release.  had a go on it this morning and it makes me really sad this was never finished and released as it is close to what we would have wanted from a star wars battlefront game being able to transition from ground to space battles without loading screens etc makes the battles feel more epic etc...  runs fairly well on xenia as well

Quick question - what's the deal with Retroarch cores? I've got a Bios file ready, but I'm trying to check out one of my old games and it's asking for a core. (A quick look at a video guide didn't mention them and the video's 25 minutes long, so I though asking here would be faster.)

@Kayin Amoh for  ps2 with retroarch you need to set a ps2 folder within the system folder (if i remember right as its been a while since i did my inital set up)  if its ps2 you are trying to play then you are better grabbing xbsx2 as its far better than retro arach and all you need to do is point in settings to your bios files for ps2

@Superunknown  what format of rom are you trying to use?  god /xex work while iso's wont (xbox cant unpack more than 5gb from iso which xbox iso generally are bigger sized)

You're trying these on an XB One S? I'd suggest abandoning all hope of trying to get GC/Wii/PS2/360 stuff running.

Worked much easier, thanks for the suggestion!
