You mean the hype around the return to F1 of the greatest energy drink Rich Energy is bullshit? At least it will be entertaining bullshit unlike the car launches, it's already delivering.

Blokes a fucking loon. I have a feeling he's about to declare title sponsorship of this rumoured 'monaco f1' team.

Andrea Moda, come back all is forgiven.

He does strike me as a really interesting bloke, but he's a complicit blagger and full of absolute bollocks. The kind of bloke that would get you into the best restaurant and boozer in town, and then make sure that you picked up the bill because he's only got 1.50 in his account.

Great sales patter...

I have been involved in formula 1 for 30 years and this is the first time I have acquired a 50% model.

Yep, must be a rare thing.

We sold this along with a real 1997 Tyrrell to a collector

in about 2004.

Ok not quite first then...

This is a piece of unrepeatable history.

Umm...

Might be interesting to some...

£18 quid for a keyring which is basically a machined titanium ARB link from an 80s F1 car. I believe these are from a Williams, from the earlier half of the 80s - or so the seller, who is a fellow Maserati owner, claims.  He's been told not to disclose the origins but basically he claims his uncle worked for Williams in the 80s and later on historic cars.

I have no link to the seller etc. basically it'd be like one of you sharing something on here and me just re-sharing on another forum.

My chunk of f1 car arrived just now. It's heavier than I thought it would be.

All this talk of Mclaren being meme central driver love in lots of bants... I don't buy it.

I may be jumping the gun but I get the feeling that it's not going to be like that at all between the drivers. I get the feeling Lando wants to be team leader just at a time when you have Ric coming in and stealing his thunder and naturally asserting some dominance. I think it could get a bit spiky. I don't see that type of scenario working out well for Lando.

He has actually come out and said as much this week, https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.norris-expecting-to-take-more-of-a-leadership-role-at-mclaren-in-2021.6Zs51GvFZcfMEYtGbSL2jK.html

I think both drivers and straight shooters and it will be ok but you dont get to F1 if you're ok with being beaten regularly so who knows.

Not surprised. It's an interesting dynamic. I think with Carlos he was 'ok' with Sainz being a bit more of the leader. After all Lando was the rookie and he was close enough on pace + learning to keep his head above water. McLaren is 'his' team now - he's the one that knows the team, he's the one with the team experience. Problem is Ric is a proper smooth operator and I think he'll win over the team pretty damn quickly. Maybe it will be fine. But I dunno, watching the launch... I just got weird vibes from Lando.

I think Ric is going to turn him over like he did with Ocon.

Preferred last year's livery tbh. EDIT: That said, the above renders really aren't that great. Actual car looks decent in the flesh:

Looks like a Tyrrell

I still maintain that it’s stupid having Alpha Tauri and Alfa Romeo on the same grid.

Alpha Tauri

Alfa Romeo

Al-pine

and to a lesser extent "Aston".

It's going to be hell.

Meanwhile having been essentially told to fuck off by Stroll, BWT are shopping round to spend their cash elsewhere, Williams and Haas the obvious choices.

Hope it's Williams.
