After the first new engine over the allocation it’s only a five place grid drop. I think they might give Hamilton a new ICE in Mexico.

Which feels ass backwards really.

What is essentially rule breaking should not come with a bulk buy discount.

Indeed, isn't that three engines in as many races for Valtteri now though? Very odd situation.

Not sure I believe the turnaround that has Perez as the fastest driver. I still think Mercedes are favourite for pole tomorrow with Max an unknown due to him bailing on his soft tyre run.

It's bizarre really, it almost encourages this type of behaviour. I think they should change it for next year. Merc are kind of taking the piss with it, but dems the rules as they are right now.

Max and Lew getting spicy already and it's just practice. Win number 2 of the year for SP with both of them in the kitty litter? :eyebrows:

It is a funny one. Toto played down the idea they are trying different thing with each new engine saying they are all the same spec. Not sure I believe him!

It's telling that it is Valtteri that is the one mysteriously requiring a new (spec) engine at every race. Sussing out the best option for Lewis' final showdown if necessary maybe? Pretty shrewd really. Whatever it takes.

It must be exhausting trying to beat Merc. Red Bull are giving it a good go but then Merc come along with the trick suspension and BAM.

In the following clip of the car chase in Point Break the role of Gary Busey will be played by Red Bull and the Ex-Presidents will be played by Mercedes.

We join the action mid season with Red Bull just taking the lead in the World Drivers Championship:

Bonus: The second part of the chase on foot sees the season reach its crescendo.

Max (Keanu)  chasing down his prey, Sir Lew (Patrick)  through the suburbs of Abu Dhabi.

Tsunoda is finally making some progress then.

I think Alonso and others taking grid  penalties and not pushing helped, otherwise they’d have started p14 or whatever on qualifying used tyres.

Really good point.

Loved that last run in Q3, anyone could have had it.

I definitely missed the grid walk, it’s my favourite part of the build up.

This is not exactly a glorious return sadly, although mostly due to the complete arseholes he’s encountering. 🤨

At least Ben Stiller and that rap lady was nice.
